Hogtown Snub

I’ve gotten a kick out of following this the past couple of weeks.

Now, if you’re wondering “JP, why didn’t you share this with us?”, it’s because I find it to be a flawed exercise.

What really, really horrible fan base is missing from this? Yes, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, and Tennessee are all insufferable.

But a poll like this that excludes the jorts-wearing jerks of North Florida cannot be a serious poll. There are at least half of the teams listed on this that couldn’t sniff Florida’s Busch Lite soaked jock, and I find it to be an egregious an outrageous denial of having a national poll prove that Florida, in fact, possesses the worst fan base in the nation.

I did vote for Ohio State, though. They really are up there with the Gators and the Hillbillies.

How would you have voted?

Your Daily Gator and MBG – championship or bust edition

Oh my … the north Florida Axe body spray wearing, Busch Light swilling, trailer park trash are out after the Handbags get bounced on the tournament’s first weekend.

I hear from credible sources that Hogtown is a great basketball town now.

Discuss.

Settling Down

I bet you’d forgotten about Jaden Rashada, hadn’t you?

You might’ve forgotten about the lawsuit he had out there against Billy Napier and a Florida power booster who promised a four-year, 13 million-ish NIL deal to come play in Gainesville.

Here it is, two years later, three teams later (Georgia to Sacramento State to now Mississippi State), and the two parties have finally agreed to a settlement.

You could read the article, but, essentially, the details of the settlement are confidential, so we’ll never know what the final settlement could be. My guess would be that, considering Rashada’s NIL value has likely diminished by a lot, it was considerably less than 13 million dollars.

If they did give him the full amount, then that would amount to roughly 34 million dollars in buyout money between Rashada and Napier alone.

Couldn’t happen to a finer group a assholes, if you ask me.

FTMFs.

Return of the Sith

No, no, no, no, no.

He’s the grandson of Steve Spurrier…so does that make him GSOS?

Give yourself to the Dark Side, young Gavin.

Already, FTMF.

I Want Out

Two years ago, Clemson and Florida State were exploring ways to get out of the ACC. The conference image and brand was perceived to drop the Seminoles out of the CFP, and this year both Miami and Notre Dame took issue with the conference, which graciously is handing Miami all the CFP money they earn instead of redistributing it to the conference teams.

Who, the, would actually want to join the ACC? You may want to sit down for his one.

My, how the mighty have fallen. Sad to say, but neither would probably do much better in the conference that has posted a 9-4 post season record and has a team in the championship game.

But you do you, Gators.

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Fun fact, Somto, in Nigerian, means “God is good” and Cyril translates to “Lord”.

After watching the replay, that was my thought as well…”Lord”. I might have said something with God in it, as well, but that’s another thing altogether.

Sadly, Somto was needed because Stagg looked more like a high school freshman than a college freshman, and Jeremiah Wilkinson was still clearly not 100% and finished (I think) with just 2 points after coming in to the game as the team’s leading scorer.

Hoop Dogs lost, but seems more self-inflicted and injury related than the usual (hopefully, anyway) conference play collapse that we’re accustomed to seeing Georgia Basketball take each season.

Fingers crossed, anyway.

North Avenue Transfer School

Buster Faulkner left, and apparently Brent ain’t the key to keeping talent in Atlanta.

At Tech, you can do that, right? Also, can you have ever imagined in a million years that one hated rival would just trade their parts with another hated rival?

I keep saying it, but we live in golden times.
