There’s been some discussion of GTP Refugees merch. I’m not opposed to doing some things to promote us around here. A couple of days ago, Sanford222view mentioned a sticker for his cooler. As a man with coolers covered in decals, that struck a chord with me, and sounds like a good way to test out getting merch to the readers of this rag.

I priced this out on a website that makes custom decals. For a 3″ x 3″ decal, the cost per would be around $1.50. That’s for a lot of 50 total decals.

If you’re interested, here’s how I would try to handle it: Anyone wanting decal(s) would send me a letter in the mail with, let’s say $2.00 for 1, $3.00 for 2 and a SASE. I could then mail them right back out to you the next day. (If you don’t know what SASE is, one of the old-heads will explain it to you below. 😜 )

If all goes well, we’ll look at doing a limited run of t-shirts next…

    • Yes, I’d prefer cash, I think $2 or $3 is an acceptable amount to risk on the USPS doing their job. We all know, someone’s letter is going to get lost. Now, if we do a run of t-shirts, that may be a little riskier but, if you want to send cash or a check for that, through the mail, that would be fine. I’m not real fond of cash apps myself.

  4. From the conversations on this site that I have read and been a part of, I suspect there will be VERY few who do not know what SASE is. This crowd seems to have been raised on rotary dial phones, manual transmissions, knows what an E-ticket at Disney World is, and can write in cursive.

      • We were so far out in the sticks, that we were on a party line. One long ring for us and 2 short rings for the house down the road.

        • We were on a party line with the church across the street. Using the phone on Sunday afternoons was darn near impossible.

          • I remember picking up the phone and ask Mrs. Hulsey to get Daddy for me! Knew all the 4 operators.’ Those were the days! Better now? So much simpler then.

          • My older sister would get furious when the old man down the road would interrupt her deep important conversation with her high school boyfriend. He was tired of waiting to use the phone. My dad would be mad with her for being on the phone so long. In his mind, nobody needed to talk for that long.

    • I’ll need 5. One for each truck, one for the tractor, one for the cooler.
      Oops, 6. One for Got Sr.’s legendary F250.
      It should be noted there are no decals on any vehicle I own at this time. This is a big deal.

      • Once the first batch of 50 is gone, we’ll spin this one up. My boss gave me side-eye for ordering $70 worth of stickers today. I gotta prove I can move’em before she lets me order another batch!

    • I never met Ranger Russ in person, but I could picture this sticker but with a cigar hanging out the corner of his mouth ala Erk Russell. I suspect those two shared a lot of personality traits.

  28. Count me in for 3 stickers, and tell me where to send my $2 bills and SASE please! You do accept $2 bills right?!?!?!
