Postgame Freakout!

Okay guys, we made some editorial changes today. It was decided that ee’s game breakdowns would be more suitable for the gameday post. And JP agreed to run with the ND gameday post.

Funnily enough, someone mentioned this in the comments this week… the POS (Post-Game Overreaction Show) that UGASports.com runs after every UGA game. People are able to “call in” and vent their frustrations or their positive feelings coming out of the game. This is a safe place to freakout over the weakness you saw, the strengths you saw. Here’s your chance to get it out and move on with your week.

Now, don’t make me regret this. Everyone is entitled to high emotions right at the end of a game. If you disagree, be civil about it, no one should be called out for just unloading after the game. So, keep it civil and we’ll see how it goes.

My takeaway? Kirby was purposely “hamstringing” his defense to give them some adversity. This was a tuneup for Bama and I don’t think calls and alignments are being revealed yet. I fully expect to see “all in” next week.

P.S.: I’m open to a better name for this post…

Good morning. I read through JP’s post yesterday on the state of the blog and there are some things I’d like to address.

First, the recent kerfuffle with D as in Dawg. He has not been banned, he was put in timeout. I reached out to him and let him know. I’ll just say, I don’t expect a Christmas card from him this year but, he will be reinstated and it will be up to him if he wishes to join back in.

Second, the login issues. For a good while, we allowed people to comment as “anonymous” without any brakes or checks on who is commenting. If I recall correctly, we had a hand full of people who were “anonymous” making comments and no one knew who they were responding to? And, we had another commenter who was using the anonymous handle to troll and stir up shhh..tuff. So, I made a change on the settings. The setting does not require a “login”. What it looks at is, are you signed in at WordPress? If yes, you can comment right away with your WordPress handle. If no, it prompts you for your handle and an email address. Now, this is a built-in setting, the email field is part of it, I can’t remove it. However, it is useless. It is not compared against a list for approval, it doesn’t log you in to anything. It isn’t stored anywhere, it is not used by us. I don’t care if you use 1@1.com for the email address (cause the stupid thing won’t accept it being empty), the main thing is to enter your handle. Heck, try just using 1 character for the email address, if it takes it, roll on. Just please use a consistent handle and develop your persona here while interacting with everyone.

So, what is the general feeling about this? Do y’all want to just go back to allowing anonymous and remove any checks on people commenting here? I apologize for the inconvenience of this, it was the least painful way I could come up with to ensure everyone can have a handle on here to comment with. If it is too much, I will roll it back.

Hey y’all. The decal rush has slowed to a crawl, I am assuming everyone has gotten their SASE back in the mail? If the post office lost any, let me know.

I got an email from Winodawg suggesting that we have a show off your decal contest. Which sounded like fun to me. So, let’s do it.

Now, I’m not going to ask a bunch of luddites to figure out how to post an image in the comments! (just kidding, I love almost every one of you). Gooooooood morrrrrrrrrning Refugees! Coming off another non-con blowout of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, the Dawgs open their SEC campaign today against the Razorbacks of Arkansas. The Hawgs may be the worst team in the SEC? Another blowout loading? A lot of misery surrounds this Razorback program, the fans and boosters have soured on the AD, the new coach is getting no honeymoon, they’re a mess over there.

Good morning! Welllll, let’s see… Texas did indeed pull it off last week. I knew whichever team won, that their fanbase would become insufferable. What’s worse? Insufferable assholes at an Ohio State or Lawn Corn assholes in Texas?

Then there’s that game tonight…

The number of people, in the comments, swallowing this hook, line & sinker is…. concerning.

Ranked matchups of ranked teams this week include #16 SMU @ #23 Louisville and the aforementioned #7 LSU @ #8 Ole Miss. this week’s meteor game. Mercer, we’re all rooting for you, go be great. Reckon how many seconds will be left on the clock at the end of the Michigan/UTEP game? Western Kentucky, we’re all rooting for you, go be great. Does Auburn/Florida have any luster to it at all? Neither ranked, yet they get a night game while the #2 team in the country plays at noon (technically 11am). Nebraska favored by 25.5 over North Dakota? Hell, an upset here wouldn’t surprise me. Kennesaw State, we’re all rooting for you, go be great.

I don’t think any coach’s seat really got any warmer last weekend? Anyone that may be in danger of bricks through the window this week?
