Agreed. Dominating win but restraint. The UF D was pretty good. Never in doubt and boring. Some of our players made plays, great D and the O controlled the first half with textbook efficiency, kind of a “death by 1,000 cuts” game.
Pretty sure Kirby had giant boner from that defense and the manball offense.

No doubt Kirby & Co questioned their defense’s manhood during the off week. It showed. Shades of the ’21 game where the offense didn’t do much but the defense said “we got this”. If we can choke out the Land Sharks next week we could seriously be on to something here.

Normally, I have a rule for myself that any gameday where we WIN, I stay 100% positive.
But, this phrase… my fucking god I am so sick of this being the summary of so many of our biggest, most critical games. It is either:
“D showed up today. O was shaky but, good enough to win.”
or
“D showed up today. O wasn’t there. Tough loss.”
or when we play a team with a great O and the D has a tough one:
“D had a rare tough game. We needed the O to step up. They didn’t.
How insanely rare is the message after a championship/playoff game:
“Wow, D didn’t have it at all, but the O just overwhelmed them. Big W.”
Would you honestly trust our team in a shootout?
Going score for score with another team. Maybe both defenses are insanely gassed. So its all about who can keep scoring touchdowns.
