Let the Gnashing of Teeth Begin: Here’s the AP Poll…

Here ya go.

So, how did we at the Refugees get it with our Preseason Poll?

The more red you see represents the more we overvalued a Team, if AP polls are more correct that ours. Green shows where we undervalued a team.

Good to know that it’s not a complete SEC bias. While we overvalued the SEC by 16 points, we overvalued the ACC by 26…giving Clemson and Georgia Tech both more credit than they deserve (when viewed through the AP’s lens), but even Miami and Louisville. That’s not really scientific, just notable in the total overvalue numbers there in the chart.

Maybe the media bias towards the SEC and B1G is really a thing.

After all, they ranked Iowa, who isn’t even on here, and who hasn’t played a down of offense since pre-COVID days.

  1. Notre Dame plays one team with a pulse this year. They play a D2 schedule. Easiest road to the title by a million miles.

  2. I think our Mumme poll is more accurate on Miami. They should run the regular season table if they can get past Notre Dame in South Bend.

  3. Northeast media bias always favored the B1G over the SEC. We were just a bunch of ignorant rednecks…until the BCS showed who the real big boys of CFB were. The subsequent efforts to usurp the power the BCS gave us only proved that the computers were right. Only NIL took us back a step.

  4. The only thing interesting of note is that we had Clemson so much higher. I did not have them on my ballot which was only ten teams. I would tend to agree with the AP on the Tigers with a lake.
