Blame It on the Rain, Man

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what peak coping looks like.

These are the same people that will say Florida is more of an elite program than Georgia since 1990, let’s ignore everything that happened in the 100 years prior.

They like to argue that Kirby’s playing days hatred that was established in the 90s is fueling his passion for beating Florida. I guess the same holds true for Tennessee, but what about Tech? Kirby went 3-1 against Tech as a player, with this last game against the NATS being a 21-19 loss. He went 1-3 against Florida and 0-4 against Tennessee, yet he’s only lost to Tennessee once and Tech once. He never played against Texas and is 3-0 as a head coach against the Longhorns (correction…3-1, forgot about the “We’re Back Sugar Bowl”.

They’re not wrong that Napier was awful and Mullen gave up, even if he was the Portal Master. Sumrall is talking a big game, but, hey, so did the two listed above and where did that get them?

Maybe, just maybe, he’s actually just a great coach. I know Florida hasn’t seen one of those in a long, long time, so maybe that’s why they’re having such a hard time making sense of it all.

  1. Never forget! Can’t wait for some damn payback. It’ll be ATL v Athens but IDGAF!!!! Drop fifty on TMFs!

  2. I will give the author credit for one thing. The “brain dead Sling Blade clone” remark was funny.
As far as Kirby’s motivation, he is motivated to beat everyone, but some are just a little sweeter than other.

  3. That guy is too stupid to use AI to write his theory which even AI would not suggest.

  4. Don’t say bleep to their undisciplined arses and point to the scoreboard and laugh.

Unless – you’re explaining that Florida ain’t even a rival, they’re just our South Georgia Homecoming Game opponent.

    FTMF

p.s. at Georgia the Standard is the rival, the victims are just part of the process.

  5. What a dumbass. Dooley took care of them for years, Kirby is just adding on more pain. Old ball sack was good, but Kirby would have given him hell. Gators eat boogers and suck!! Go Dawgs!!!

  6. Kirby lost to Texas in the Sugar Bowl. Remember, Sam whatshisname said Texas was back.

  7. Nothing used to piss me off more than CBS throwing up the ridiculous stat line before the game which acted like football started in 1990. I think one year it showed “Florida has won 17 out of the last 23 games in the series” or some shit. God I hate those bastards.

  8. Pleading not to take sole credit for Florida being shitty is fair enough. Defending it by admitting Florida has been plenty shitty without your contribution is pretty demeaning.

  9. Hey, y’all best start lookin’ at the real reality of the situation: the Georgia Bulldogs are winless for the 2026 regular season – El Zilcho! We ain’t even scored a point or stopped the opponent once this whole season. Losers and Cuks, like the goof troop in Gainesville that want to honor other teams from the past that ain’t lining up for a dayum thing need to go hang those banners elsewhere, because their Daddy Kirby ain’t havin’ it. It starts with whippin’ Tennessee State’s arse and then 15 more!

  10. 8-2 is still 8-2. That is a hit rate that contributes to keeping them in the ditch they have been stuck in since 2009. I could not care less what they think about it as long as they think about it . . . alot.

  11. We could say the same about Spurrier. Elite coach, CFB HoFer (and all-around MFer). Beat up on the worst UGA teams since the days of Johnny Griffith. Does the Ol’ Ball Sack get credit for owning Ray Goff? After all, he wasn’t the only one.

  12. Sumrall is getting a lot of hype as being the guy and having “it.” This is based on what he did at Tulane and before that Troy. If you look deeper you can see that he was only at each place for 2 years. I think he deserves credit for getting Troy back to being good, but Neal Brown had done a really good job there for a long time before leaving.
His stint at Tulane is where I feel he inherited a great foundation. Fritz is a hell of a coach and made Tulane a G6 contender.
Were I a Florida fan I would have much more concern about a guy who has a 4 year head coaching career than I would throw shade at Kirby Smart. I think there is a much greater chance of Sumrall lasting 3 years at Florida than there is him going 3-0 against Kirby.
