Sleeping with the Enemy

I have to wonder how we let this happen. After two seasons of prolific offense, we let a coach slip away to the Barners. And, of course, Auburn already released an image of him in the wolf’s clothing.

The Bulldogs led the league in home runs during the 2025 and 2026 regular seasons, while shattering the program record with 179 longballs last year. They also set new team marks for wins, runs scored and RBIs, while making their first trip to the College World Series in 18 years.

Perhaps Ammirati’s biggest impact came on the recruiting trail, where he helped Georgia bring in the top-ranked transfer portal class last year. Ammirati historically excels in the area, with coach Wes Johnson calling him a “dynamic recruiter” upon his hiring in 2025.

‌”He’s a star,” Johnson said before that season. “We’re extremely different personalities — I’m a little more loud, and Nick’s a little more quieter, but we think a lot alike. He’s always looking for something to make a player better, whether it be through a mechanical change or through analytics, and he’s very exceptional at it. He understands data, he values data, and he’s able to help players.”

In addition to hitting, Ammirati primarily worked with Georgia’s outfielders. He also helped director of player development/video and scouting Drew Finley manage the pitching staff in games where Johnson got ejected.

Ugh. Auburn had some great arms, but didn’t necessarily excel in the hitting department at times…this isn’t something we should be okay seeing happen, but such is the business.

I’d say good luck, but, you know…Auburn sucks.

Scandals? What, me worry?

Between the scandals, a cheated National Championship, and the cluster that was the first expanded CFP selection process, Warde Manuel deserves nothing but the worst in his retirement. Somehow, though, I feel he’ll land on his feet afterwards, in some other school where his kind is welcomed. I’m thinking:

Cheating sucks…and so does Auburn.

Message Board Geniuses: It’s a Baby Ruth

Only in Auburn.

Unless you’re willing to rush it off the beach and bury it in the sand, the correct answer is no distance.

Friendly reminder that as you complete your family vacation to the beach, make sure there are no Auburn fans around.

Also, your daily reminder that Auburn sucks, even at going to the beach.

A Tradition Like None, Other…At Tech, You Can Do That

Getting a new uniform sponsor, getting new shades of shit.

Granted, we have our new Bulldog head thanks to our uniform sponsor, but I wonder if Tech is going to be able to still have all the unique and interesting uniform combinations when they take the field next year and lose.

Oh, I forgot, they’ve got Fernando Mendoza’s brother, so they’ll be winning a national championship, right.

Sorry, it must be brain fog…I was confusing Auburn with Tech. Both will be losing, but only one will claim a championship in something at year’s end.

Tech and Auburn suck. FTMFs.

Your June 27th Reminder That…Well, You Know

Auburn sucks, and its seems people are actually beginning to notice.

What’s gotta make it worse is how painfully close the Tigers have come to not being winless against Alabama and Georgia in that same time frame.

As far as the series against Georgia is concerned, I’m forever grateful for the great Gus Malzahahahan for this gem:

Yeah, that phrase “all glory is fleeting”…seems like it flew away long ago and chose to never return.

What a shame. *snickers*

Warde Manuel, We Hardly Knew Thee

Man, Michigan folks are melting down right now at the recent news that their NCAA Championship basketball coach is leaving to take over the NBA.s Dallas Mavericks.

Feels like the U-M is becoming a stepping stone. I thought they were a “Blue Blood”, no? Hmmm.

Anyway, the few more interesting aspects of the furor over losing May is interesting…first, there’s the rumor mill, that says May is leaving to evade tampering charges (does that even really happen?).

Then there’s more logical explanations, which actually make more sense to me:

And then, the Geniuses let their anger be known:

Ah, Warde Manuel. Or, A Lewd Manure, as I liked to call him by his anagram, or better known as the head of the first expanded CFP Committee who continued to piss off the entire country through the 2024 season with convoluted rankings systems, “quality losses”, and a clear preference to award the B1G over the SEC as much as he could. Once championed by his own conference as the man who advocated for the B1G and succeeded in getting Ohio State in and through to a National Title, is now being targeted to be ousted from Michigan.

Not that it would be without cause. Let’s face it, from the 2023 Michigan National Championship forward, it’s not like Michigan has been looking great in the news. Cheating scandals, sign stealing, domestic violence and kidnapping, and that’s just from the football head coaches. Never mind a potential tampering scandal for basketball…what in the world is going on in Ann Arbor…and why, oh why, would anyone plop Manuel up to be the head of the CFP Committee, ever?

Maybe they knew all this, and they had the goods to put him under duress to get what the big donors up north wanted?

Who knows…but it should be a bad look, maybe for all involved, but it definitely continues to add more asterisks to nattys than fake nattys claimed by the Barners of east Alabama. Maybe the Texas Techs, Auburns, and Michigans of the world need to form their own conference where anything goes, and no one is a real winner at the end of the season’s conference championship.

Call it the Terry Bowden Invitational, and I might even watch.

Your June 10th Reminder that Auburn Sucks: The Barners are Butthurt

Question: Why even complain and send public statements when you can just claim he was the Coach of the Year anyway and put it on a banner? Why does it matter the decisions that are made for accolades when you can just claim bias and favoritism and claim the award, anyway?

At Auburn, you can do that.

Reseeding the CWS Would Result in Another SEC Tournament?

Check the crowd pop on this one:

I would’ve paid good money to see this as COSM in Atlanta, provided they had this view of the game from the venue.

Go Dawgs…meanwhile, here’s the matchups for the CWS:

Yes, that’s right…All-SEC on one side of the bracket. Hmm. What would it look like with a reseeded bracket:

#1 Georgia vs. #8 Troy

#2 UNC vs. #7 Oklahoma

#3 Texas vs. #6 Ole Miss

#4 Alabama vs. # 7 West Virginia

Then it would just be an All-SEC CWS, would it not?

Just imagine…also imagine if the Supers were reseeded…some different outcomes could’ve occurred:

1 Georgia vs. 16 Little Rock

2 Auburn vs. 15 Cal Poly

3 UNC vs 14 Troy

4 Texas vs. 13 St. John’s

5 Alabama vs. 12 Oklahoma

6 Oregon vs. 11 USC

7 Mississippi State vs. 10 Ole Miss

8 Kansas vs. 9 West Virginia

Well…guess what…you still would’ve only had five SEC teams in the CWS brackets…and Auburn would’ve been one of them…plus you would’ve had a B1G team in it, too.

Nah, maybe I like it just the way it is.

Message Board Geniuses: Losing with Integrity, The Auburn Way

Hoo boy. This is rich, coming from the land of make believe championships and Scam Newton.

Saying “not getting punished for cheating like every other athletic program” when you’re a Barner is doing some heavy lifting.

Remind me again why Terry Bowden didn’t win a real, live National Championship…and how Gene Chizik did? It’s interesting, isn’t it?

At Auburn you can do that. Actually, you can apparently do anything you want.

May Madness – Baseball Regional Shockers

Oh, my goodness. Let’s hear again about the almighty power of the B1G…

Say it with me, class…for the first time ever…yikes.

Meanwhile, in Tallahassee…

And here’s another to shut the RPI nitwits up…all those folks screaming about Auburn and their RPI can explain this…the only team in the Regionals with a LOSING RECORD knocks off the #4 Barners on their home turf…

Milwaukee started the season going 5-23, to finish with a 26-31 record. They did win the Horizon League, though, so hopefully that will soothe the Auburn souls. Note: it will not…check the Saturday Message Board Geniuses post.

Also, this is the May 30th reminder that Auburn sucks.

In other news…Georgia didn’t get to finish off Long Island University, being up 15-1 in the 6th when the deluge hit.
