Let all the Bulldog faithful rally behind the men who now wear the red and black with two words, two simple words which express the sentiments of the entire Bulldog Nation: Auburn Sucks.
Seek it, and He’ll provide! Unless it’s Auburn, where a Message Board Genius believes the programs ills can be squarely blamed on the Big Guy and His flock.
— Message Board Geniuses (@BoardGeniuses) July 9, 2025
AGTG. Yep, that’s the problem. Freeze must be recruiting at summer Christian camps and Righteous Gemstones are turning the whole program into an unrecognizable mass of pansy-assed rich kids and not the Godless, soul-crushing teams of years gone by.
Up next: Nick Fairley and Cam Newton were meeting with the Illuminati at Bohemian Grove. I knew it, and you did, too!
I know this, because Tuberville told me so.
Say what you will about our internal strife and bickering about Bobo et al, but at least we’re not this stupid.
On the day we celebrated the life of our content creator in perpetuity at the Railroad lot, the Dawgs handle their business on Homecoming against the Greater Opelika Cow College for the 8th time in a row. Beating Auburn is always great, and playing them as a Homecoming opponent was the pièce de résistance.
As I looked at the statistics again and the scoring summary, Auburn didn’t look awful. It was definitely a case of feast or famine and red zone. 3rd down was the difference in this game as the Dawgs converted at a greater than 50% clip with the Tigers at just under 33%. Auburn only entered the red zone twice with both times being held to field goals and scored their only TD on a poorly defended running play by Jarquez Hunter.
Individual Stats:
3 sacks and 5 total TFLs and Peyton Thorne rarely made any hay with his feet unlike 2023 at J-HS. The defense on this day was opportunistic and played some fairly solid bend but don’t break defense. We probably all thought the performance was subpar especially against the run, and Hugh Sleeze took another moral victory lap at game’s end. Moral and Hugh Sleeze in the same sentence? Yikes.
Something to Consider for 2025:
With the full reinstatement of Young being official with the start of spring practice and another year of Humphreys doing things the Georgia way, these 2 with returning players and transfers could help the Dawgs’ passing game. This game was the last appearance of the year for Young, and I’m not sure it was a coincidence that the offensive production from the wide receivers began to drop off after this game.
After Dan Jackson’s pro day performance (legit 4.4) this week and Starks’s combine performance, I had to give the 2 safeties who are both likely to be drafted now their due. Everyone knows KJ Bolden is next in line to be the next great Georgia safety with his range, tackling and ball skills. One of the story lines of spring practice may be who lines up on the other hash at safety. My bet right now is JaCorey Thomas, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of the young DBs make a push for playing time.
Dan Jackson appreciation post … plays like this on special teams may be the reason he ends up with an extended career at the next level. I’m not saying he’s going to block field goals, but #17 has been everywhere for the last 4 years as a big part of the special teams. The NFL is more than happy to keep some guys on the roster who can play but get after it on special teams. Once again, we are going to need someone to take the leadership role on special teams. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s damn important work.
Summary:
18-point wins over your longest running rival never get old. Please, SEC, don’t let the game end as an annual game. 19-6 in the 21st century and 9-1 in the Smart era … that’s ownership. They have beaten Alabama more times over this span than they have beaten Georgia.
Not much else to say, but Go Dawgs!
Let us know your thoughts on the DSOR in the comments.
I guess we’ll be hearing from Clemson players after they beat whomever they play next week that they want Louisville again. The Cardinals go into Death Valley with a rock and pull the Greater Anderson Cow College’s pants down. I really thought Dabo had picked his team up off the mat after the Benz Boatrace and had them poised to give the Almost Competitive Conference a chance at a 2nd CFP bid. All of that came crashing down in a flurry of field goals. I looked at the stats this morning and still don’t understand how Clemson lost.
I’m sure Tyler from Spartanburg is ready to let everyone in the Upstate know how much football he knows this week.
Let’s head down I-185 to the hottest place in the southeast and the weirdness that is Williams-Brice at night.
Texas A&M runs into a buzz saw they never saw coming Saturday night in Columbia as the Poultry downright kick the Aggies’ asses up and down the field at the Dead Cockroach. The performance of the USC defense was incredible to watch as they stopped two 4th and 1 plays and harassed Reid all night. The South Carolina offensive line punched Texas A&M’s defensive line in the mouth time after time, and Rocket Sanders went off as South Carolina ripped off explosive plays by the bunches.
What is it about that place once a year where the Gamecocks punch way above the cock fighting weight?
It’s getting old to continue to go there, but it’s time to check in the geniuses in Greater Opelika.
Auburn gets punked by Vanderbilt, the Alabama state champions as a result of their season sweep of the Alabama schools for the first time since 1955. Assuming Vandy keeps winning Clark Lea should be SEC coach of the year and in the running for national honors. Diego Pavia owns Auburn, Alabama. In the meantime, I’m sure the Voldemort of agents, Jimmy Sexton, is reminding the folks at Auburn what the buyout provisions of his client’s contract are as the Tigers’ football season goes south in a hurry. Auburn has to win out just to be eligible to play in the Birmingham Bowl.
Let’s jet up north to check in on Vanderbilt’s former coach who can’t seem to get a break … even against the Just for Men spokescoach.
Penn State loses their white-out game … again. Talk about overrated fake juice. James Franklin loses another game against a team who can match up with talent. The parts of the game I saw showed how slow and not physical the Nittany Lions are and how average as instant grits Will Howard is as anOSU’s quarterback. While it’s now likely both teams will make the CFP, neither of them should strike fear into any SEC team that happens to line up opposite them.
Let’s keep our Yankee leg of our trip going as we move over to Ann Arbor, the home of the most overrated stadium in the sport.
Can you say living rent free in someone’s heads for the last 3+ years? Michigan fans know their title is the result of cheating plus the fact they didn’t have to see us. Where did the sleazy Kirby Smart touch you, Baba?
Anyway, back to the game, Oregon dissects the Wolverines to give mighty Michigan their 4th loss of the season with 2 potential playoff teams (did I just write that about Indiana?) still left on the schedule. Maybe Michigan will end up somewhere crappy for a bowl game. Conor Stalions is somewhere laughing quietly about that.
Let’s swing back through the Sunshine State to check in on the latest in Tallahassee.
Conquered again … This time by a UNC team that isn’t very good themselves. When fans are talking about firing both coordinators and shaking up the coaching staff, it’s only a matter of time before the axe falls. FSU can’t afford to buy out Norvell’s contract and pay someone to take over, but can they afford to slide back into post-Crab Legs mediocrity as the sport continues to change? The bottom line is FSU has a culture problem, a talent problem and a coaching problem. Do they trust the head of the program to solve all of them? Yikes.
We end our trip this weekend on the banks of the St. Johns River where the Dawgs win and give Sun Belt Billy somewhat of a moral victory.
A double digit victory over your most hated rival and we bitch. I’m not happy with how we played on offense for stretches on Saturday, but this team takes everyone’s best shot and keeps coming. This bunch of geniuses on the 247 message board is exactly why I don’t post much on the game day thread unless there’s something to say rather than something to say in the moment.
The only thing I have to say about yesterday is … stop turning the damn ball over. I’m sure Mike Bobo is coaching Carson Beck to throw into coverage or not to throw the ball away when nothing’s there. When we force teams to drive the length of the field, we generally get off the field. Take advantage of that.
As I wrote yesterday, #15 has cost himself a lot of money as this season goes on, but frankly, I don’t give a damn about that. We have all of our goals still in front of us. Keep winning.
That’s what I saw over the weekend. Let us know what you think in the comments.
PS – I’m happy as hell that we won’t have to watch 3 political commercials at every TV timeout next weekend.
Hat tip to u/guttyc on the r/georgiabulldogs subreddit
It tickles me now when our opponents make permanent displays that misrepresent or flat out get wrong basic historical facts. (Looking directly at you, Auburn):
Still on display to the best of my knowledge in their nifty new little basketball arena. Can you catch the lie untruth historical inaccuracy? (Photo credit: Dawglicious hisself)
As for FSU, I can’t really blame them for trying to ignore history. At least they didn’t make something up out of thin air.
As a good friend put it in church this morning, the possible signs of the end times are out there, but he wasn’t sure the aggregate of recent and ongoing natural disasters, wars, or crazy political shenanigans pointed towards any need to get right right away.
Then Vanderbilt beat Alabama.
In my neck of the woods, the attendance on the Sunday after Georgia/Auburn rivals “Low Sunday” the week after Easter, there being significant fans of each in our part of the state.
Not today…the thunderbolt in Nashville must have stirred a few souls to get on up and get to church. Just sayin’.
EDIT: Picker Nil Butron is a Pud had a feeling about Vandy…hope he followed through!
On to the results!
Forest_Dawg with the 5-way tiebreak victory! Run, Forest!Stuart Dawg holds the top spot for the second week in a row, nice going, Stu!
(Your humblecommish won the tiebreaker for all those poor souls who went 3-9 this week in 104th place. Don’t cry for me, though. Yesterday’s carnage was more than satisfying; a gentle salve for my poor pickems this week.)
Week 7 brings the Bizzaro Dogs and more cowbell to Athens. Good luck!
Numb. Unemotional. Withdrawn. Those are the feelings your humble commish experienced this weekend, and that was before the damn game in T-town. I guess it’s a protective shield I’ve built for myself and my loved ones after years of practice, but it works and I’m ready to see what Kirby can do over the next two weeks to get our Dawgs clicking for sixty minutes, rather than the second half.
As for halves, we are nearing the half way point of our season, and some of us have had very unDawg-like nice first halves! Especially StuartDawg, who paired a tie-breaker Week 5 victory over 10-2 SUhatter94 with a leap into first place in the season standings! Nice job, Stu!
Bam!Zoom!
Plenty of season left, y’all! Lick those wounds and let’s take it out on the Barn this week.
Your humble commish,
Dawglicious
P.S. Week 6 games post on Monday once lines are finalized in the site
The debut of this feature seemed to be popular with the refugees, so we’re going to keep it up.
Fran Brown stole your lunch money
The Fech fan base is so irrelevant that MBG rarely has anything, so here’s a bonus from the nerds at StinkTalk.
Lose a game to Syracuse after you get into the top 25 for the first time in a long time? In the immortal words of the ultimate nerd, at Georgia Tech, you can do that! Congrats to Fran Brown for giving Brent Key a wedgie Kirby style.
Now onto the other geniuses of the message board universe:
Notre Dame comes crashing down after their win in the nation’s most intimidating atmosphere (eye roll), Kyle Field. Losing at home to a Group of 5 opponent is not a good look. The Irish offense is painful to watch, and Riley Leonard looks at a quarterback at Duke. When your fan base is taking shots at your sideline fashion choices, things aren’t well. To the Irish subway alumni, Nick Saban ain’t going to give up his cushy job at ESPN and his golf game for you bunch of blowhards.
Yes, Notre Dame is wildly overrated and will be in the expanded ESPN Invitational by its name and soft as Charmin schedule.
Auburn loses at home to Cal after last week’s thrashing of Alabama A&M. The Tigers’ offense went back to being its post-Gus Bus dysfunctional self with fewer than 300 yards of total offense and 5(!) turnovers. Auburn fans calling their coach an “idiot” is just golden. Sleeze’s burner phone problems are going to follow him wherever he goes. Hugh Freeze and Auburn … a match made in hell. The Greater Opelika geniuses are already starting (when do start seeing private flight plans to Northwest Arkansas?):
Texas made post Connor Stalions Michigan look slow and pedestrian in their rout of the Wolverines in the Big House. The genius knives are already out for Sherrone Moore citing his age and lack of experience. Maybe the problem is your talent level warranted cheating to win. The way Texas scattered, smothered, chunked and diced Michigan would make a room of Waffle House cooks give Sark a standing ovation.
Reality is setting in at Boulder. Coach Prime is clearly in over his head. Nebraska outmuscled Colorado to a 28 point halftime lead and then cruised to victory. I wonder when we’ll see an over/under line on how many games Shadeur Sanders plays before Prime opts him out for the draft preparation or he’s broken into pieces as a result of his offensive line. Travis Hunter lost it on the field last night. It sucks to be you, Travis. You could have played for the best program in the country. Sucker.
I guess basketball season is going to start super early after Saturday’s face plant against the Palmetto Poultry. When your quarterback gets outplayed by LaNorris Sellars, it’s not good. When your own fans are saying you’re worse than Vanderbilt, that’s not encouraging for the home field advantage when #1 rolls in next Saturday night.
The Rural Central Florida Basement Dwellers/Meth Heads are beyond delusional at this point. Urban Meyer doesn’t want any part of Kirby Smart. That would be a reason I would love for this to happen where cold pizza under TIAA Bank Field is plentiful. On the other hand, the same crowd who celebrated when Dumbo Fisher left for College Station now wants him back. Watching the Florida schools be a total mess is a sight for these 90s and 2000s sore eyes.
What did you see online this weekend that made you laugh especially at our rivals?
