SEC Media Days: Big Blue Hope, Petrino’s Bike, The Other Texas School, and Freeze’s Burner Phone

Seriously, not a lot of coverage out there yesterday from the Twix world for a summary, but here it goes.

First, there’s BBN getting around BVG, when they weren’t asking questions about basketball:

Hopefully they hooked some other talent to surround him. Seriously wish him the best, can’t fault him for making a business decision.

Meanwhile, College Station, you better keep receipts:

If Fisher had been doing this all along, that whole Jameis Winston thing at Publix wouldn’t been about easier to handle.

Little Rock has a hot seat, and Coach Pittman knows it. Petrino is back, but will it be enough?

Hard to believe that the time from 2021 to now has been so different for Sam:

He still has a sense of humor though:

And finally, there’s the Barners doing everything they can to string together competent sentences during their time at the podium:

Oops, I mean here’s the real ass…

“One of the top football programs” has never been Auburn’s place, no matter who they try to convince.

Pain, in the Key of ABC

Ugh. I wished I still could turn the TV volume off and just listen to Munson like the good ole days.

The graphics look like a kid superimposed a video game on top of a live action shot of the field. Bad graphics and music feels like we bought Atari version of a football game and not the PS5 version. Some had an idea how to improve it:

The worst part? Making the Handbags look like a competitive team.

SEC Media Days – Just the Highlights: Tide, Texas, SunBelt Billy, and Starkvegas

Not going to inundate the feed today with a bunch of posts, so I’ll just keep it to the high points:

First, here’s some cautious optimism from Gainesville:

With any luck, they’re working out a contract extension as we speak. It’s going to be a touch road to hoe, though:

Meanwhile, in the land formerly known as Saban’s Death Star:

Milroe looks like he’s just entered a small western town one a white horse with two chrome Colt Peacemakers with ivory handles. Also, there’s a response to Nick’s yummy rat poison from the day prior:

Of course, it was also Texas’s day, so here’s how God’s gift to the SEC is handling the media:

Yes, yes you do. Sark likes the culture he’s building in Austin, too:

And on renewing old rivalries:

Meanwhile, in Starkville, no one has noticed Texas or Oklahoma, and they seemingly don’t care:

Some things never change, and glad they aren’t.

Georgia SEC Media Days: Malaki Starks

It was a banner day for Starks, who was star-struck meeting a former Georgia great in Todd Gurley:

Kind of humbling to think about it, but Starks has only experienced one loss in his Georgia career:

Praise for Starks:

Go Dawgs!

SEC Media Days: Misery

Very little hype around Mizzou, as well. Here’s a few highlights:

Eli was repping his data savvy:

He does do more with less, I’ll give him that. Speaking of…

On playoff possibilities:

Quick reminder on returning talent for Mizzou’s defense:

Offensively, they’re going to have to control the clock and keep the defense off the field. With their returning talent on the offensive side of the ball, they can possibly do it.

SEC Media Days: Sooner…or Later?

Oklahoma took the stage yesterday, with little fanfare and coverage across the socials yesterday. Starting with Venables on handling “success”:

Repping the Sooners yesterday:

On his quarterback:

“Jackson understands better than anybody what goes into being a quarterback,” Venables said. “His ability to handle the highs and the lows, the challenge, the success, the failure that the season will bring you — no one is more ready. … No question about it, he’s ready for his moment.”

On entering the SEC:

There’ll be lots of running, alright. Just ask Carson Beck what it’s like to play in an opposing stadium:

Well, it is Auburn. Cursed is a nice way of saying Jordan-Hare sucks.

Guess Which Dawgs are Barking First

Notre Dame was a glorious win that year, but I also felt like we escaped with a win. The moment I knew 2017 was going to be different happened right here:

That opening 59 yard score was euphoric. The media and dogs from Starkvegas were chirping all week that we would be exposed in this game. Our offense opened with this play, then it wasn’t long after that Roquan literally killed a man (dial it up to the :50 mark):

The final score didn’t effectively communicate how much we dominated this team all night, but it felt like it was the announcement that a new era of Georgia football was starting.

Man, what a great day to be a Bulldog.
