Guess Which Dawgs are Barking First

Notre Dame was a glorious win that year, but I also felt like we escaped with a win. The moment I knew 2017 was going to be different happened right here:

That opening 59 yard score was euphoric. The media and dogs from Starkvegas were chirping all week that we would be exposed in this game. Our offense opened with this play, then it wasn’t long after that Roquan literally killed a man (dial it up to the :50 mark):

The final score didn’t effectively communicate how much we dominated this team all night, but it felt like it was the announcement that a new era of Georgia football was starting.

Man, what a great day to be a Bulldog.

  1. This night is when Dopey Dan’s obsession with Kirby and UGA started. He thought he deserved the job and brought his team into Athens to prove it. The domination was something to behold. I’ll admit this is the night I started to believe what was possible.

    • And then Dopey Dan tried to open the Florida game with a flea flicker the next year. I’ll admit he caught our defense (the receiver was open) but he forgot that Felipe Franks was his QB.

  2. Mullen came in wanting to showcase his coaching skills. He left town with no doubts about who was the top Dawg in the league.

  3. I was convinced after the next week when they destroyed the vols in Knoxville 41-0.

  4. i was still kind of agnostic about Kirby after 2016. I didn’t think he was a miss, but I wasn’t sure he was The Guy. 2017 ND was a huge road win with a freshman QB in his first start. That showed me he could handle adversity. But that Miss St game? Dan Mullen! Senior laden team! Very physical! Seemed like a great chance to wet the bed, but we beat their asses and made them like it. That showed me he could handle prosperity. The rest, as they say, is history. I was sold on Kirby from that day forward. Seems to be going ok since then.😉
