Way to go, TV. You got this weekend wrong in so many ways.
They had this one circled as probably two one loss teams for the noon game, and then two undefeated featuring Lane Wiffin as the Main Event, only for this to result in an evening game featuring the greatest wastes of NIL and buyouts, possibly ever.
If ever there was a greater showcase of burning money, this weekend’s evening game is it.
Maybe they would call it the Lawyers, Guns, and Money for Nothin’ Bowl.

To me it was stupid having Florida and Auburn, Alabama and Florida State, and LSU and Ole Miss all onnat the same time from a viewership standpoint. I mean I know there is a bundling option on YouTube TV and probably other platforms where you have a game gling in each quadrant of the screen. How many people use that? I tried it and found you see all four games yet you see none of them. So I just put it on LSU and Ole Miss. The people making the decisions in college football are so divorced from the hard core fans and the culture of college football that they couldn’t be more clueless. And they think they’re doing a great job is the bad part.
FSU @ Alabama was a 3:30 PM EST game that was delayed by weather 2x, so it really wasn’t supposed to overlap UF/AU or LSU/UM.
At the start of the season, it would make sense to NOT predetermine game times for the games for highly ranked teams until Sunday so that you get the best games in the prime time slots. Besides the fanbases represented, who wants to watch LSU-TAM next week? Texas @ Tennessee should be the 7:30 game and TAM @ LSU should be the noon game.
I’m happy with our 3:30 slot since I’ll be attending and can go up and back the same day with relative ease.
For some reason, if LSU is playing at home against a team who is expected to have a pulse they seem to get the night game.
People complained when we didn’t know game times. Now we complain about knowing slots. If OU beats Michigan, we’re in the prime time slot.
