Go Dawgs!
Get up! It’s game day! Week 3 of the 2024 season brings us the following matchups…

Here at the Day household, we do a lot of hate-watching when the Dawgs aren’t playing. Today we will be Badger fans and pull for the Bama upset. LSU & USCe will be on as well, can they both lose? Can Memphis keep FSU winless? How hilarious would that be?
At the 3:30 time slot we’ll be tracking Texas 8&4 and the Hogtown Lizards, again, can they both lose? Will definitely keep an eye on the Civil War and probably watch to see if VMI can give UGA a shot at a doubleheader sweep today.
At 7:30 today, the Dawgs will dine on feline like a Haitian migrant! Deion’s failure theater in Colorado is as thoroughly interesting as a slow-motion trainwreck, will be following that one and will keep tabs on the Candy vs Georgia State game.
What’s tuned in for you today? This post is your open thread for comments on today’s non-Dawg games.

The debut of this feature seemed to be popular with the refugees, so we’re going to keep it up.

The Fech fan base is so irrelevant that MBG rarely has anything, so here’s a bonus from the nerds at StinkTalk.

Lose a game to Syracuse after you get into the top 25 for the first time in a long time? In the immortal words of the ultimate nerd, at Georgia Tech, you can do that! Congrats to Fran Brown for giving Brent Key a wedgie Kirby style.
Now onto the other geniuses of the message board universe:
Notre Dame comes crashing down after their win in the nation’s most intimidating atmosphere (eye roll), Kyle Field. Losing at home to a Group of 5 opponent is not a good look. The Irish offense is painful to watch, and Riley Leonard looks at a quarterback at Duke. When your fan base is taking shots at your sideline fashion choices, things aren’t well. To the Irish subway alumni, Nick Saban ain’t going to give up his cushy job at ESPN and his golf game for you bunch of blowhards.
Yes, Notre Dame is wildly overrated and will be in the expanded ESPN Invitational by its name and soft as Charmin schedule.
Auburn loses at home to Cal after last week’s thrashing of Alabama A&M. The Tigers’ offense went back to being its post-Gus Bus dysfunctional self with fewer than 300 yards of total offense and 5(!) turnovers. Auburn fans calling their coach an “idiot” is just golden. Sleeze’s burner phone problems are going to follow him wherever he goes. Hugh Freeze and Auburn … a match made in hell. The Greater Opelika geniuses are already starting (when do start seeing private flight plans to Northwest Arkansas?):
This brings us to the asterisked national champion:
Texas made post Connor Stalions Michigan look slow and pedestrian in their rout of the Wolverines in the Big House. The genius knives are already out for Sherrone Moore citing his age and lack of experience. Maybe the problem is your talent level warranted cheating to win. The way Texas scattered, smothered, chunked and diced Michigan would make a room of Waffle House cooks give Sark a standing ovation.
Which brings us to Colorado …
Reality is setting in at Boulder. Coach Prime is clearly in over his head. Nebraska outmuscled Colorado to a 28 point halftime lead and then cruised to victory. I wonder when we’ll see an over/under line on how many games Shadeur Sanders plays before Prime opts him out for the draft preparation or he’s broken into pieces as a result of his offensive line. Travis Hunter lost it on the field last night. It sucks to be you, Travis. You could have played for the best program in the country. Sucker.
A view from Lexington.
I guess basketball season is going to start super early after Saturday’s face plant against the Palmetto Poultry. When your quarterback gets outplayed by LaNorris Sellars, it’s not good. When your own fans are saying you’re worse than Vanderbilt, that’s not encouraging for the home field advantage when #1 rolls in next Saturday night.
Finally, from the state “south” of us:
The Rural Central Florida Basement Dwellers/Meth Heads are beyond delusional at this point. Urban Meyer doesn’t want any part of Kirby Smart. That would be a reason I would love for this to happen where cold pizza under TIAA Bank Field is plentiful. On the other hand, the same crowd who celebrated when Dumbo Fisher left for College Station now wants him back. Watching the Florida schools be a total mess is a sight for these 90s and 2000s sore eyes.
What did you see online this weekend that made you laugh especially at our rivals?
Another full Saturday of college football, ahhhhh…

Soooo, TV 1 will obviously be on ESPN+ at 1400 today. What will we be tracking on the other 2 televisions?
Only a few good matchups this weekend but, I ain’t complaining, there will be college football on all day! Any matchups that has your interest that I didn’t touch on? Maybe you can reply in the comments and let me know. Maybe you can’t, who knows right now?
This is your open thread post for today’s slate of games.
Go Dawgs!
The Labor Day college football opening weekend rolls into Doak Campbell Stadium tonight where FSU will try once again to set all the naysayers straight! After Fech’s takedown of Georgia State, more and more eyes are looking sideways at FSU, to see just exactly who they are. Lose this one and they’ll probably start suing each other.

FSU is a 16.5 point favorite and the O/U is 49.5, per Bet ESPN. I believe I’d take the over on this one, were I a betting man, and I am not a betting man.
This post is your open thread for tonight’s game… for those of you that don’t have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow…
Go Dawgs!
College football’s opening weekend is a 3 day affair this season. One of their so-called marquee matchups airs tonight:

ESPN Bet has LSU as a 4 point favorite and the over/under is set to 64.5. Based on my vast ignorance of both USC and LSU, I could see LSU more than covering 4 points in this game.
This post is your open comment thread for tonight’s game. Enjoy!
Go Dawgs!
Just look at that schedule image down below… isn’t it beautiful? We have arrived at our destination… a full slate of college football games for our Saturday. Here’s today’s slate of games:

So… what will be on TV 1 at noon here at the Day house? Need you ask? What other games will be up on our screens out on the dock?
This is your open thread for Non-Dawg (ND) gameday comments throughout the day. Dawg gameday post will be along shortly.
