Man, that’s a lot of blue from 1990-2010.
Just think, we went 3-17 against the Gators in that span of time, and we still lead the all-time series comfortably.
Another note:
Since the 2010 season, we’ve gone 11-4 against the Gators and are 8-2 in the Smart era.
Let’s hope we keep the streak alive this season against Sumrall and Faulkner.
All this shows is that Florida is a mediocre program that had a ~15 year stretch of good football.
1964-1989 was the superior stretch.
I think Faulkner will be a thorn in our side this year with better talent than he had at Tech.
Starting in 1931 we had our own 17-3 domination. It’s really been a series of streaks. I did some quick math and was alarmed to discover we are 34-39 during my life span!
Please, dear God, may we win the next six! I will be 81 years old at that point!
26-25 in mine. That stretch was rough for my confidence in our guys versus theirs.
Who ever said the 90’s was good either forgot to exclude football or was not a dawg. I’m still scared from not missing a single trip to Jacksonville in the 90’s. Walking out of that stadium was horrible with 2002 being the year I had enough it was time to stop playing in annually in Florida.
Now everything is right with the world. Thank you Kirby Smart. I attend that game every year now looking forward to the moment the gators head for the exits. The running of the gators will never get old.
