Do you remember that old line when James Coley infamously took over as OC at UGA? I remember it, too, and it was something to be forgettable once the result was played out in the field.

Enter the firing of Harbaugh in Baltimore, alongside rumors that players weren’t happy with Monken’s playcalling…and now Dawg Twitter is blowing up with pleas for Monken to return…

So for today’s Wondering…was Monken that great of an OC, or did he just have a top flight cast of characters to play with?

Also, if we had to pay top dollar for an assistant to return to Athens, who would it be? Boom? The Pitt Boss? Or Monken?

Honestly, I didn’t tune in to the number of fans or whether the stands were full or not. The Marshall game was one of the more affordable games out there, at least on the third-party ticket market.

Wednesday Wondering: How Are You Watching?

Saw this, and it’s as refreshing a sight as the feeling of fall in the air again this morning.

Admittedly, I wished I was there. With the change in temperature outside, it’s tempting to take a day off of work and dry-run the Saturday festivities, just, you know, for practice. It’s so close we can literally feel it and taste it out in the air.

Anyway – how’re you watching Saturday? Will you be at the game, where’s your “traditional spot”, or will you be watching the game elsewhere?

Also – is there a Senator meet up this year? If anyone knows, share out in the comments.

Wednesday Wondering: Selling Your Soul for a Ring

I know many of you have differing opinions on Brooks Austin, but I’m using this for a point of discussion today.

I’m no fan of Michigan at all obviously, and I’ve mentioned before that Michigan’s trip to a national championship was so layered with ethics issues that it makes Auburn’s $cam Newton championship look nearly legitimate.

My question for you is a little layered as well…would we have ever been this desperate as a fan base…also, why do you think Michigan’s actions (both the sign stealing as well as the recent allegations on accessing images of players by a coach) aren’t getting as much attention in the press as they should?

Personally I never felt the desire for Georgia to “do anything to win”. Hell, we won two rings the right way and haven’t heard the end of constant bickering about driving issues and “if so and so hadn’t been hurt”, so I’d hate to see what the downfall would’ve been had we been found to have been cheating in some kind of way. We already saw what happened with Jan Kemp in the 80s, so I’d imagine any finding against Georgia would’ve been nationally shitposted everywhere and would’ve lead to immediate college football rules reform. Yet Michigan…crickets.

Is it big money? Influential boosters? How’re they getting away with it?

Wednesday Wonderings: Hate to Admit They’re Right

I believe I’ve said this same thing about Archduke Manning before, but it sounded pretty succinct and to the point from none other that SOS:

We recently opined on the nemesis that is Spurrier in last week’s posts, but this is more of a question for Wednesday Wonderings:

What was the most significant time you had to go back and admit someone was right about something involving you or your thoughts? Was it a friend or an enemy, and which stings the most?

My first thought involves my first wife. Hate to say my mom and dad were right about that vampire of money and soul, though it worked out for the better in the end. Still stings though.
