Fabris Pool March Madness Pre-Championship Update

The Pool comes down to these two…

Check my poor, computer-strained eyes and my late-afternoon arithmetic, but we’ll have a 137-point photo finish should UConn, picked by Knoxdawg #1 (tiebreak total 146), beats Michigan, picked by current leader Lakedawg1980 (tiebreak total 155). Knoxdawg was the only picker within a moonshot of Lakedawg to take the Huskies tonight.

A Michigan win will see a reshuffling of the top players, with Lakedawg1980 on top.

Final update tomorrow! Then on to the Masters…

Your out-of-it-dammit-Duke commish,

The Fabris Pool March Madness Musical Palate Cleanser: Elite 8 Edition

For me and anyone else who had Duke, anyway:

Shot (literally):

Braylon Mullins

Kid shot that from Caitlyn land!

Cleanser Chaser:

Dolly Dagger

My favorite Hendrix song for a while now. Duke drank the blood from the jagged edge.

Here’s the Top Ten heading into the Final Four:

First column is points earned thus far, second is total possible.

I guess these young coaches gotta figure out how to handle the final seconds with a slim lead and the ball. I pretty have much have picked Duke every year since 1990 because my close cousin my age went there and I needed someone good to pull for in the offseason.

Your humble(d) commish,

Dawglicious

Damn, son. I don’t think I’d have said that

Aaron Philo has opinions. For a guy who hasn’t ever experienced a W against UGA, he’s got a lot to say.

https://youtube.com/shorts/DMlNX4D8zwc?si=8yRBbC-wcUqMFwJd

Do I understand why he’d be mad about not getting recruited by UGA? Sure. Do I understand why he’d be mad after getting his ass beat as part of the Brent Key Weeping Blowhard Experience? Absolutely. He grew up in the shadow of UGA, they judged him not up to The Standard. He’s entitled to his opinion.

But damn, son. Don’t you have access to media where you live? Is there a coach and a program in America that turns bulletin board material into rocket fuel better than UGA? Bangin’ your gums about how much you hate UGA hasn’t worked too well for ol’ Brett. People around Gainesville can tell you how well it’s worked out for them since Irvin Meyers left.

I guess we will see him at MBS this fall. Appreciate the help focusing, amigo. Kirby and his team probably won’t acknowledge a word he said in public, but I’m guessing it may come up in private. He better hope he doesn’t have an alligator mouth and a hummingbird ass.

FTMF. I hope Ryan Pugliese takes his UGA GF after we beat his ass in Atlanta. Sounds like she should jump in the Relationship Transfer Portal and trade up.

Is This Thing On?

In keeping with JP’s post about the off season doldrums, I realized I haven’t posted anything on a good little while. It is possible this is considered a positive development here, but it’s mostly because (I think) one word press update or another hid the “publish” menu from me. So, today I decided to hunt for it.

I’m thinking I found it (possibly tough luck if you are an Auburn fan). I’m just throwing this up here to see if it works. If it does, I may weigh in with my deep thoughts, insightful comments, and (of course) the sarcasm for which I am best known.

Lets see if it works.

Wednesday Wondering: Content and Comments

It’s the slow season, and, to be honest, it’s hard as hell to generate content right about now. So, as I do from time to time, I’ll put this out there to y’all who are still hanging around: what type of content would you like more of, less of, and are y’all still with us? Haven’t heard from some of the regulars in quite some time.

Happy Wednesday, everyone, and let us know in the comments.

Sweet Sixteen Fabris Pool Update

“Bluhhhhhhd on the saddle….”

If you’ve ever made the mistake of going to Disney in Orlando during the summer, you’ve probably made a much-needed pitstop for 15 minutes of air-conditioning at the Country Bear Jamboree. While Big Al no longer sings the old Tex Ritter hit “Blood on the Saddle” after the recent refurbishment, I figured most of us needed a break from March Madness to lick our wounds and soldier on towards the Elite Eight and Final Four.

Here’s your top 10:

Your humble commish,

Dawglicious

P.S. I had the Handbags in the Final Four, but ain’t sheddin’ no tears over that loss, lololol.

Bracket Busted Day One?

I hope not! Unless you had the Tarheels or our Dawgs winning the whole thing, you’re probably OK.

I haven’t done a deep dive into who’s picked who just yet. We’ll save that for Sunday.

Here’s the standings as of noon Friday:

Here’s your (early) top ten. 12 points or better on Thursday and/or Friday with no major damage down the ticket is strong as potash.

Enjoy the Madness!

Your humble commish,

Dawglicious

P.S. I haven’t found a way to post a link to take you from this post to the app, so check on your picks through the Splash Sports app you downloaded to play

Not With a Bang, But a Whimper

I’ll just leave this here.

It was awful, and that is all I have to say about that. How’re yall feeling?

Spring Practice Day 3: News and Notes from the Twitter Feed

Here ya go. Media had twenty minutes to observe, so there’s still not much. First, for the number changes:

Next up, who’s wearing the Captain Blue helmets?

Surprisingly enough, one of the blue caps was Ethan Barbour. I’ll spare you the click to the AJC.

And for those of you worried about Gunner’s reads, here’s a little inspiration:

That’s progress in my opinion, and in many of yours. Camp says he’s more relaxed, more comfortable having a year under his belt. Was Carson more comfortable in year 2?

Only time will tell.
