Third and Redemption

Consider this…

Third and Grantham was a very real thing…any coincidence that the victory was sealed on 3rd down? Hmmm.

Speaking of, which is better…the Kneel to Seal?

Or the “Screw You, 2”? You know, for Scam Newton? Cough.

Also, anybody else notice that Delp took a knee too? Chess, not…never mind.

Just another reminder that Auburn Sucks, and FTMFs.

Go Dawgs!

  1. That’s awesome.

I’m still disappointed… not surprised, just disappointed… by all of our so-called fans that are more pissed off that we didn’t cover than they are happy that we won.

      • Sorry, Tex. I missed the rule where we’re only allowed to express an opinion one time.

To be honest, I wasn’t thinking of you when I wrote that. I’ve read numerous comments across social media complaining about Gunner taking a knee. But clearly you took my comment personally. That’s on you.

        • If that was a rule, us sports fans would be cooked.

Every single one of us loves sharing our opinions hundreds, if not thousands of times. 😛

Also, I agree with you: Just win, baby!

          Fuck Vegas. Fuck gamblers.

    • LOL. No one is pissed we didn’t cover. I’m disappointed we didn’t hang another 7 on their sorry asses. For Kirby’s “attack” mantra, kneeling at the one because he’s worried the Gators are somehow going to overcome an 11 point lead in 1:00 doesn’t seem to fit.

      • When it happened, I was disappointed as well. Then I thought about it & if we had to play 8-10 more defensive plays, the way injuries plague this team we probably would have lost another defender for the season. So I’m good with it. Plus, I would never bet on college football & that goes double for betting on Kirby to cover.

        • Interesting thought and may be true. Delp taking a knee proves Kirby called for it in advance.

          • Gunner got his ass chewed by Kirby for scoring against Auburn, so for sure it was discussed ad nauseum.

I just noticed we don’t have a banner of Gunner kneeling, though. 😉

  2. Delp taking a knee kind of makes it apparent that the issue had been emphasized by the coaches.

Delp was like, whatever you do, do not go into the end zone! With or without the ball!

  3. The Delp kneel is hilarious. Still have no idea why he did it. Was he taking it literally when coach yelled in the timeout “if anyone gets past the first down line, take a #$@%** knee before you get to the end zone!” Or just trying to remind Gunner what he needed to do? Or just a cold blooded FU to UF defenders who were pursuing? Who knows, but I’d love to hear him explain it! Hahaha.

  4. A (virtual) 31-20 win over the ditch lizards is a good solid performance by the Dawgs. Both offense and defense gave us plenty to stress about, but also plenty to cheer about. That’s just what this season is about. Lots of young Dawgs getting good experience, though. Next year, we should be hell on wheels.

  5. I think Kirby had sympathy for the gators interim coach. No advantage to rub his nose in it, he did a heck of a job. If that was still a peer HC I think he lets Gunner score.

    • I don’t know. I don’t think that it was sympathy, personally. I think that it was a mature head coach that said “they have no timeouts and if we get a first down without scoring we can run out the clock and UF never touches the ball.” My wife was screaming at the TV when it happened until I explained that with the first down, UF having no timeouts, and the time on the clock that Georgia just ended the game.

The way the Dawgs played it? Zero percent chance the Gators could win. Gunner scores with 1:50 on the clock? Gators touch the ball at least once more and there is a chance, however small and remote, that they get at a shot at two scores with a return, quick TD and onside kick.

  6. Love the play or hate the play, you have to hand it to Gunner. He is VERY coachable. He did what he was instructed to do. You KNOW he wanted that TD bad. He scored against Kirby’s wishes previously and I’m sure he incurred the wrath of Kirby for not sticking to the script. I suspect that had that been Stetson, he would have scored and just dealt with the tongue lashing that would be headed his way.
