So the upcoming release of EA Sports College Football will have an interesting feature embedded for Bulldawg fans: black jerseys and potential blackouts.
I’m not gonna lie, the black jerseys just don’t do it for me. I like the blackout idea from a stadium aura standpoint, but they look more like practice jerseys than anything else and I favor the traditional red jerseys for home games, anyway. Just one man’s opinion here.
They did get one thing right in the updated version: Tech’s cheerleaders. Woof:
But this is a vidya game we are talking about here, and isn’t reality, which made me think of this musical palate cleanser from a good while back:

Btw: I stand by my proposed blackout policy. If you beat Florida, the seniors get to decide in which home game to wear them in November. The players like them. If its a reward for them, why not?
I love the black jersey, but not with any other uniform combo. The all whites including the helmet should only be for recruit dress-up pictures.

I don’t really care for alternate jerseys, but once every blue moon, maybe. I like a uniform that remains constant over the years. It’s not a fashion.

4th Quarter Krypton/Light Up Sanford (with the red lights at night) and it’s not even close. The Battle Hymn would be cool as well.
Uga is in the game according to the video posted yesterday, so we don’t have to worry about that (I wonder if the Seiler family got an NIL deal).
I’ll take the 4th quarter/light up Sanford every time. I’ve seen it many times and I’m amazed each time. Now the traditional food; Time for some changes.

A.I. could probably come very close to duplicating Larry’s voice, but could never duplicate his soul. How about emptying the bench into the end zone for the go ahead touchdown against the handbags?
I like alternate uniforms IF they look good (but I don’t like Oregon’s uniforms that change every single week!). I like the red pants (last seen vs Arkansas in 2020), the black pants (but only with the red helmets and only with the white jerseys like in the 1998 Outback Bowl vs Wisconsin – NEVER with red jerseys like in 1998 vs Florida). I would like to see alternate uniforms 1-2x each year (home and/or away) just for the fun of it. I hated the 2011 Power Rangers uniforms, but only because it was too much red and the huge red helmet stripe. If the pants had been black, they would have looked better. Make the thick red stripe on the helmet thinner (like it is on the regular helmet) and make the helmet black, then MAYBE it would have been acceptable. It certainly would have been better than what we got. I’d prefer that the away uniforms included either red or black pants with the white jerseys and red helmets vs silver britches every time. I prefer the home uniforms to be traditional, but do not hate the black jerseys, but only 1 time each year.
No matter what don’t change the helmet.
I don’t play video games and AI generally gives me the twitches but AI Larry might be kind of cool.
Agree with Munson being impossible to replicate. You would never get the inner Munson soul Larry bleed out on every important occasion. I would be interested in listening just to hear what an AI version would sound like. I’ve never been a big Scott Howard listener. Larry spoiled me so I don’t blame Scott Howard just don’t care for his style
