Get a load of this:
#20-22 on there is just plain hilarious and more proof that people just throw stuff out there to generate anger and debate on the interwebs.
One thing that’s infuriating, though, is the knock that Stetson was just “surrounded by more talent” and “just on a team that was better than everyone else”. What logic is that, to be fair, when you slap up Burrow, Hurts, Stroud, Fields, etc? Weren’t those teams loaded from top to bottom as well? It’s almost as though people don’t want to even recognize that the years 2021-2022 even happened.
And for a listing of the “best”, I sure see a bunch of names on that list that couldn’t compete when they played Georgia. So much for “to be the best you have to beat the best”.
Some of those qbs never played in a playoff game either. Stetson obviously did, twice, and was a winner, something some of those others were not. It seems a lot of the media is starting to come around on Georgia, but there are still plenty of idiots out there that try to snub and snob us out. It’s locker room juice, and it ain’t fake.
Lotta’ nice names on that list, will give ya’ Mr. Joe Burrow, he/lsu game plan for that particular ass whipping on UGA football may or may not have turned Mr. Manball into a better HC, showed a direction, offensively, CKS required to match his “D” philosophy, if fact, will call your top 25 whutevers and raise you two SBIV…GO DAWGS!!
Joe Burrow had one incredible season. Over time, I would put Deshaun Watson (sigh) up over him.
That list is total garbage if SBIV and Jake Fromm aren’t on it. Yes, Jake Fromm was a damn good college QB. SBIV won 2 championships and was a Heisman finalist. Come on, man.
Having a particular handbag qb @ #21 makes this and all future lists FOS…..GO DAWGS!! (Upon further review, me thinks Agent Herbstreit pushed this list)
Two NCs and was the offensive MVP of all 4 CFP games he played in. Obviously he’s top 5.
I’m hoping that the people that put this list together are not claiming to be experts. This list has to be just to piss off the Georgia fanbase.
Is there a qb out there who is 4-0 as a starter in CFP games? I wonder….
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think there is a guy with 3 CFP wins on that list.
I think we should take this guy out for a celebratory vasectomy.
I think he had it before making the list…
Looks like the pain meds were affecting his thinking.
Joel Klatt has said publicly several times that some of his takes (obviously this one) are simply to get under certain fans skin & create clicks & dialog. He often seems to do this regarding SEC teams. This list is a perfect example. Leaving Bennett off (4-0, 4 OMVPs) is sheer trolling & clickbait.
You say you can’t fix stupid?? Hmmmm… where did I put that damned scalpel????
FTMF.
Bo Nix but not Bennett? What a fucking joke!
The Dude said it best https://youtu.be/j95kNwZw8YY
Which ones are we saying couldn’t compete with us? Bo Nix obviously (and he tried so many times, bless his little heart), but feel like the rest did pretty damn well against us, even the ones we ended up beating. Not calling you out, just enjoyed going through thinking about how they did against us, wondered if I missed some.
I think it’s more about who is excluded, as usual. There are some good quarterbacks on there, but I’m still skeptical about Caleb Williams…Nix didn’t do great against us, McCarthy ditto, and I think you could argue Tua and Hurts depending the game. Both cases, one had to be pulled to allow the other to win. I don’t know, just thinking of Bennett’s body of work over two years, particularly in 2022, and his exclusion from a list like this is ridiculous.
No doubt Stetson should be on this list, totally agree. Again, wasn’t trying to call you out on the “couldn’t compete” line, just liked talking through the list. We definitely beat the crap out of Tua and Jalen, probably got the better of both overall even when counting the games they came in and won, but man do those games haunt my dreams sometimes.
Didn’t feel called out, no worries there. Just some of the names there and one that isn’t is kind of shocking. Williams and Daniels honestly never accomplished anything except big stats, and the absence of any kind of championship or playing in the CFP kind of makes me think the guy had some fuzzy logic for decision making!
