Maybe in Texas, “RBU” stands for “revenue brought you” to Austin, amirite?

  1. Texas may have jest been waiting til the end to see how much others were paying. Saves a lot of time and effort on the recruiting trail.

    • Can’t say I blame them. Now, talk to Jimbo Fisher about how that 2022 recruiting class worked for him. Six five stars including Walter Nolen, who only achieved anything when he transferred to Ole Miss…and a combined 20-24 record since.

    • Agreed. Imagine how much time & effort we used on his 6 visits to Athens.

      For the relatively few very highly ranked kids, looks like teams are spinning their wheels on repeat visits instead of getting down to the nitty gritty of ‘sho me the money’.

  3. I knew we weren’t getting Atkinson’s commitment when it was announced he would commit on Jackass McAfee’s radio show.

    Hey, Sark, you’re full of crap. Just admit you’ve got oil money desperate for a championship. If they don’t win one in the next 2-3 years, the oil barons are going to kick Sark to the curb.

  4. Funny how Texas can jump in the SEC and instantly vie for the most distasteful school in the conference. It took Florida and Tennessee decades to climb to such heights!

    • A Fraternity Brother of mine from Texas A&M warned me that it would only take a year or 2 before Texas would be the most hated team in the conference…and he was right.

      • Nobody was surprised that Texas is the team everyone hates. Some of that is the bunch of arrogant and entitled trust fund babies that comprise their fan base (Clampetts in Ralph Lauren). A lot of that is that no one who is a legacy SEC fan seemed to want them (and Oklahoma), period.

  5. I’ve yet to come across a tried-and-true SEC person who wanted Texas in the conference. Not one.

  6. The Tejas approach for being the last club to make an offer is not sustainable. Others will catch on and adapt.
