Clean, Old-Fashioned Ownership

Here’s a happy Monday visual for you!

We’d be an easy nine in a row if they hadn’t backed out because of COVID, but seven wins in 35 years makes our struggles to Tennessee and Florida pale in comparison to Tech’s epic failure to get a leg up on the Dawgs in the series.

Fear not, Techies, eventually the powers that be in college football will break away, form their own leagues, and you won’t have to play the Bulldogs every year, unless you make the College Football Playoff, amirite?

And if you think they won’t ever make it, they shouldn’t, at least, not until the expand the field to 64 teams.

  1. Obviously we are the one with the leg up. Let it rain, let it rain, wet yellow rain!!!! tech will always SUCK!! Go Dawgs!!

  2. Somebody should put the bottom row on a billboard in downtown Atlanta.

  3. The beatings will continue until the nerds sue for peace. And then we’ll say “NO” and resume whipping that ass! Go Dawgs!

    • It’s been nine years since the nerds have tasted victory in this series. This year will make 10. 😀

Yes, I know strictly speaking we’ve won the last eight game but the covid year was another year the nerds didn’t taste victory.

  4. Tech’s parity with UGA in football ended in the 4th quarter of the 1957 game when Theron Sapp recovered a Tech fumble then several minutes later scored on a 4th and goal for a 7-0 victory for UGA.

Beginning with the 1957 game UGA has beaten Tech 51 times. Tech has beaten UGA 17 times. That is a 75% winning percentage for UGA.
After Tech left the SEC Georgia has beaten Tech 47 times. Tech has won 14. That is a 77% winning percentage for UGA.

Since the day we hired Mark Richt UGA has beaten Tech 21 times. Tech has won 3. That is an 88.8% winning percentage.

By decade (I treat the year ending in 0 as the first year of a decade)
UGA won the decade 11 times to Tech’s 3. Tech last won a decade in the 1950s; it won 7 and lost 3. The only two decades Tech won was the 1900s when Tech won 4 and UGA 2, and the 1920s when Tech won 3 and UGA 2.
The youngest Tech player dress out for the 1956 game would be age 88 today. Every Tech player alive during the era Tech dominated us is age 88 or older.

  5. Tech fans admit that they hate Georgia more than they like Tech.

  6. We just need to take Tech off of our schedule. We get nothing for beating them.

    • Strong disagree. We get a tier 1 victory, plus the satisfaction of hearing the wailing and gnashing of teeth of these pencil-necked geeks. It’s much, MUCH, better than beating Western Kentucky, Marshall, Austin-Peay, or Tennessee State.

  7. This chart even includes the two World War 2 disputed maggot wins (1943 and 1944). 73-39-5 is the true record.
