It’s conference championship weekend. The final pieces of the playoff puzzle should fall into place after this weekend. With the limited amount of games today, I decided to just do 1 game day post. Here’s today’s schedule:
The only 2 games of consequence, in my mind, are the SEC Championship and the ACC Championship. The World’s Smallest Outdoor Cocktail Party will probably attract more viewers than it ever has considering the playoff implications on the outcome of that game. I expect a lot of the country to tune in to that one with the sentiment primarily leaning towards Clemson’s opportunity to keep Bama out.
The SEC game, is what it is. I’ll never turn down an SEC Championship but, unfortunately, the CFP has become the be all end all of the college football season. So, a loss isn’t the end of UGA’s road but, sure will make things tougher. Let’s just whip the Horns’ ass and move ahead. You ready? Let’s get hyped!

Serious question…does the B12 game matter? Any other year this is one of the first bowl games on an island sponsored by a company you’ve never heard of.

Color me indifferent as to who belongs and who doesn’t, take out the 4 pm affair and these games seem more bowlish games than conference championship games, throw the 4 pm game into the mix, this smells/feels very much, like a bowlish, New Years day game…GO DAWGS!!

I thought I heard that if Clemson wins, both Clemson and SMU are in and Bama is out. If SMU wins, Clemson is out and Bama is in. SO, I will be cheering for Clemson today.

My growing impression is that this team plays a little…scared. More fear of making a mistake vs initiating the action. Playing safe. Takes them a half or more to start playing with aggression.

Well, they look better than us on everything but punting. Of course, they may not punt today, so that wouldn’t matter. Kirby has a couple of year turnaround job with this team and the same coaches will probably prevent a turnaround from ever happening. We are so stagnant and uninspiring on offense. Beck looks like he’s lost again. Etienne doesn’t have it tonight. They are better on both fronts. Pass D is more suspect than Jeffrey Dahmer. I don’t think I can watch 3 hours of this.
Going to be tough for the committee to determine who played worse…our OL or DBs.

So true! Our offense looks like they were told the first half doesn’t count. No one wants it. So much talent and no fire. If I was Sark, I’d have my guys ready for the reverse on this drive. That’s all Bobo has for this.

At this point, I don’t see us beating any team with an average OL and great receivers. Our secondary is really bad more often than they’re really good.
Man, if our WRs could catch the damn ball, we’d have a pretty good offense. Almost like we should scheme around that deficiency.

If Herbie is correct that Smith shouldn’t have jumped for the ball, a WRs coach should be teaching better technique. He has been in the program a few year and IMO has seemed to regress.

Our position coaches don’t scream credibility. Coley reduced Jake Fromm’s game, imo, and I suspect has much blame for our wr position group being the worst in the country at drops. How good of a recruiter he must be to be able to ruin good talent a 2nd time. I don’t know as much about Williams but USC didn’t have a stellar secondary. I understood maybe he was good for recruiting California?
If we can keep it close and have our usual 2nd half, we might just win this thing.

But the drops are just horrible.

Almost halftime and our WR1’s best play came on punt coverage might explain why we only have 3 points. This offense is so hard to watch sometimes….and hopefully I’ll regret and apologize for this post tomorrow. Come on Dawgs!!!
No matter the outcome, the offense should be more dynamic the entire game.
Bobo does not have the ability to scheme WRs open. Monken was a master at that and Sark is really good. Their WRs are running wide open. Ours are blanketed nearly every pass.

Defense is playing hard, but Sark is great at scheming his guys open. Our receivers are covered up every play. Bobo, once again has put up shit offense in the first half. No surprise there. No matter the outcome, that guy needs to go.
Offensive malpractice. I am sick of the damn defenders. Bobo should be fired at halftime! Halftime!! You can not defend our offensive offense. Baffling. Our secondary hasn’t been good, apart from Dirty Dan. If I’m Sark, I’m airing it out w/ 2 minutes and change left before the half.

Just a reminder UGA had to hire a DBs coach this season with Fran Brown leaving for the Syracuse head coaching job. The secondary has IMO declined this season in coverage and their ability to tackle in space.
Coley, Searels, and Donte Williams have been duds. Williams was Boom’s right hand man.
