Good morning! It’s Game Day! Dawgs and Bammers meet up in Athens tonight with UGA’s home win streak on the line. Here’s the obligatory details of tonight’s matchup:

Don’t know if I told this last year… We turned the TV off at halftime during last year’s UGA/Bama game and went to bed. Thoroughly disgusted, beaten, broken and unable to be trusted. Then, my buddy starts texting me…

I got out of the bed, stark-naked (not nekkid, I wasn’t up to something), ran in the living room, turned on the TV… just in time to see all the grab-assing around Ryan Williams, resulting in him scoring the winning TD. I turned it right back off and went right back to bed. Here’s to a better night tonight!

  9. We need to get their offense off the field on 3rd down like Bobo gets UGA’s offense off the field on 3rd down.

  11. Kirby’s D is woof level bad!! Scheme, prep, players… outmatched. Not sure how this gets fixed. Absolutely abused by their OL. Embarrassingly bad. If we score every single time we touch the ball in the second half, we might keep it respectful. W.O.O.F!!!

    • Maybe if we stop them on the first drive of the second half we will have a chance to win. Even if it’s a lucky drop or something. I’ll take it. If they score on first drive I’m afraid it’s game over. Let’s go second half dawgs.

      • Well, we got the badly missed field goal. Otherwise, Bama wins the middle eight convincingly.

We used to have flawless tackling, so our DL would stuff the run and on passes pressure the QB and even if they didn’t get to him, whatever play they could muster didn’t get past the first D player. No more. Simpson ( and Aguilar last week) sits back in the pocket and waits for the receiver to get open. I just hope we have a fix for this in the second half.

  13. My only problem with the refs is Bama holding on those screen passes near the sideline…Ref is so busy watching where feet are in reference to the chalk…he isn’t seeing the ridiculous holding. Other than that that they seem pretty fair. The refs aren’t our problem, Simpson is our problem
    And I think we gotta admit that Bama’s passing game is very polished…like clockwork. They get the ball at the start of the second half..if they score on their first drive it’s likely over.
    Pleased with the running game…pissed about the fumble and the vanilla useless first possession of the game…not happy with the pass defense but damn..if we’re not getting their best shot.

  14. No one is complaining about the refs. All dawg fans are complaining about how bad all sides of the ball suck after two weeks of practice.

  15. Dallas Cowboys have shown up in red — non tackling, scared, loafing & cannot cover a lick. Sit 1, 15, 31 & 3. Yes 3….has done NOTHING this year!

    • We’re a year away…I know that sounds like a cliche’ but I’ve thought it all year. Our pass defense is the only phase of the game that is lacking…Maybe by November it will come around. But right now, it’s a gaping problem.

    • We can’t stop their offense so far. Without a few stops it may be a close loss but a loss just the same. We need stops and/or a turnover or two. They have all day to throw.

    As bad as it seems….we’ve hung in there..somehow we’re hanging on.

    • It took 6? attempts to get it in with a goal to go and a 3rd down wasn’t converted until a minute to go in the 3rd.

  36. We’ve gotten the ball at midfield twice since the half and wasted it.
    That hurry up and hand off to Cash Jones on fourth and one was awful.
    We had em…we had em and wasted it.

    • It was a horse collar tackle that would have offset the illegal shift (which I think he was set).

  42. Do we have TEs who can get open over the middle? Why is using Cash Jones wide for a run or catch even in the playbook? Bobo has moved away from what was working.

  43. Guys why in the world do we even have plays specifically for cash jones. He’s undersized and slow after the catch. The call was terrible (both times) but then to him. I’m sorry but Kirby and the defense stepped up in the 2nd half but bozo’s crappy matchups and play calls are finally gonna bite us in the rear end. Bobo Is terrible

      • Bama will just grind it out now. I’m sick of these games. We’re unprepared, start in a hole, and can never quite find our way to win the game. Let’s just forfeit all future meetings. It will be less frustrating and we won’t have to hope Kirby will do something different this time.

      • The first one to Cash was a good call. But for that missed block he had a lot of green grass ahead. We should have taken the points and never even run that or any other play.
        The second one to Cash falls into the WTF category. Even if you ran that same play to Branch that still falls into the WTF category. It had ZERO chance from the get-go. We need to go forward 9 so you throw it 2 yards backwards??

    • Yep, like when he dropped that touchdown pass and when he let Bama’s D line hurry Stockton so often and especially when his players didn’t execute.

      • When I think about this loss, three things will come to mind, and none of them are Bobo.. 1)our slow starts (14 point hole this time) 2) turnover on downs twice in their red zone, and 3) The game-winning TD for us was the one Taylor dropped. Other than (most of) our running game, we didn’t play our best. I guess add the Frazier fumble onto the list. This one’s frustrating..

  47. We’ve played better in the 2nd half but offensive coaching and play calling has been shit. Props to Kirby and his defense for making the adjustments needed at half though. Hopefully this defense can build on this experience and play better the rest of the season. Maybe Kirby will tell bobo to just start calling backyard ball and open it up some

  49. We have pissed this away down the stretch here, at least the defense woke up in second half.
