Not sure if I’ve shared this before, but peep the youth on our current Dawg roster.
Granted, not a lot of freshmen are playing right now, but there’s enough there to say that maybe yesterday’s result is coming from the slow maturation of that youth (not just freshmen) and team chemistry. We may be peaking at the right time, or it could be an anomaly.
Two Top 15 matchups in a three week window should tell us all we need to know.
Speaking of freshmen…
And…
Hey, the kids are alright.
A woo woo! You used Brooks Austin as a reference! I’m tellin!😆
Elyiss Williams is that dude. He’s Granddaddy Washington with better agility and maybe better hands. And for anybody curious his name is pronounced Uh-lie-iss. Not Elise. That’s a woman’s name.
Like Elias?
I thought it was “elly-is.”
Right.
That’s Mister Elyiss to you!
“We may be peaking at the right time, or it could be an anomaly.”
In other words, you have no idea. ;). I think it’s probably the former because this is a CKS team, but I have no idea, either.
I’m pretty sure the coaches have no idea yet, but we’re all hoping
That block by Williams will get him more playing time than that catch will. We’ve seen plenty of talented WR/TE not play much for Kirby because they couldn’t or wouldn’t block. On EVERY long run yesterday, you saw the WR/TE blocking their asses off all the way to the end of the play.
Hope they stick around. But with this new age of college football who know?
Like I told someone; Williams is like a 6’7″ 255lb Randy Moss, but with a little more attitude. That man is going to be a problem other teams moving forward.
Gaston is the most impressive freshman to me. Glover is right behind him.
Glover is going to be a freshman all-American.
According to Rusty Mansell, it is being said internally that Glover is the best OL on the team. Between him and Gaston the future looks bright. Hopefully, Freeling decides to stay one more season. Guessing we lose OL depth to the portal though with Gaston and Glover looking like starters for the next few seasons. Assuming Uni and at least one other interior OL seek out other options for playing time next year.

Gotta keep those young guys in the program. Hard to do these day$.
I knew listening to Kirby preseason it was his youngest team ever. Didn’t know it was almost half freshman. Gaston has been extremely impressive. Stacy Searles has done his best work this season with near constant mix and match lineups. Stay healthy and this OLine can be really good.
Please get Williams more touches his upside is scary good. Kirby has always been outstanding at building team first culture. To say this team has been built under pressure is a fact. Gunner is at his best when the ground game is rolling. He doesn’t look like a first year starter anymore. For the Bobo haters it’s time to stfu and enjoy an offense that’s carried this team so far. If the defense continues to improve this team can beat anyone.
21st in total defense and 50th in total offense.
Offense ppg is 9th in conference.
This team has warts and many flaws, but what it does not have is any quit in it. I’ve accepted that this team is going to make me cuss and scream. They are going to give me heartburn, anxiety, and a drinking problem. I’ve also accepted that it ain’t over till it’s over. They are a scrappy bunch that seems to be getting better as the season progresses. Sometimes it’s not about who’s the best team as much as it’s about who wants it more.
Bottom line is they are 8-1.
I don’t disagree, but I don’t think the offense is the strength of this team.
I don’t have any particular data to support this, but I feel like all of our best teams were lead the by the defense. This includes the Richt era not just Kirby.
Just go ahead and say it, I have no clue but I’ll just say “This”…….LOL

Remind me of the lights out offenses that won something of note then?
Kirby could have scored 60 vs Miss State. Miss State scored 63 against Alcorn. Happy we are not Tennessee who runs up the score
I got accused of trolling recently. This has got to be a troll. If you think the defense is the strength of this team nobody should ever listen to a word you say.
Your right. The offense that nobody talks about led by the oc that nobody wants is the strength.
Is it possible to be more objectively wrong? I’d be surprised.
Preach, MC. What a flabbergastingly bad take. But to be fair, I stopped paying attention to his posts a few weeks ago. It’s true that everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to bother to read some of them.
I ❤️tight ends 🤣
Yesterday after his catch I was going to give the shoutout to Granddaddy Jr but he then missed a blocking assignment badly shortly thereafter so he’s a magnificent work in progress. That 3 TE set was a staple of Monken’s and hope Bobo uses it more.
