Today, In Moral Dilemmas

We have an interesting matchup this week.

It’s been so long since either team has beaten Georgia that a whole generation of kids have been born and completed elementary school in the same time, so it’s not a question of relevance, it’s more of which gives you greater satisfaction?

Seeing Tennessee lose to an ACC school, albeit a rival?

Seeing Tech lost to Bobby Hill?

Personally, I love it anytime Tech loses. Tennessee is more fun when they lose to us…but I cannot help myself from cheering whenever I see nerd tears and whining from the blue bloods on the Flats.

How about you?

  1. Strategical Bobby hill needs to win to keep him in Knoxville. The trade school will keep key forever so the vols are the right pick.

In my heart I hope for a double forfeit.

    • I’m hoping for a 3-2 “thriller” with 8 combined thrnovers and 200+ yards in penalties. Hillbillies can take it, but I think the correct take is to just revel in the defeat of either one.

    • This is cold, calculating, unemotional logic at work. I can’t disagree. Lesser of two evils, really. Well done, sir.

  2. Much like the end of a night with Mia Wallace while Marcellus Wallace is out of town, this is a moral dilemma and a test of one’s loyalty. I’m not pulling FOR either team, but I guess I’d like to see the nerds lose more than the Bobby Hillbillies on this occasion. Tech starting the season 0-2 with both losses being at Mark Richt Field at Hyundai Stadium would make me happy.

  3. I gotta pull for Tech in this one primarily because I’ve got quite a few family members whose only lifetime flaw is they are Tech fans. And I’ll never forgive Tennessee for mocking Nick Chubb’s knee injury. Ever.

    • There really are no wrong choices here. Your reasons are as valid as any, your calculations make sense for you. I think we all agree the way they acted after Chubb was hurt entitled them to endless bad karma.

  4. Tech is probably more annoying when they best us. But it’s really all they have live for as far as football. They know they suck. And a lot of the younger Tech fans are Georgia fans too as weird as that is.

Tennessee thinks they are a national power. I saw a podcast the other day with some Tennessee guys going on and on about how disrespected Tennessee’s program is. Totally lost on them that they haven’t won a game that matters in a very long time. They think they are a blue blood program. Yet they are pretty much irrelevant. I guess Tech is worse but neither one of them really matter.

  5. Tennessee was never a rival they just got scheduled against us during the SEC Division Era. They got lucky a few times buying our recruits out of Atlanta because we wouldn’t cheat and they had a generational QB for 4 years. They historically have never been in our class on multiple levels and Richt/Kirby have sorted those butt chuggin sisters kissers out. I give them credit, their rectal deposit pasture of a field injured players we love but the suction they can apply to their mama’s purple pickle emoji pretty much describes their poverty arses. We don’t play them so let the crickets chip away.

The Technical School, however, is on our schedule and could be in for one of their usual ramblin’ wrecked three win seasons so let’s get a game of tape on them and drop a 60 burger on them and send them cryin’ off to whatever comic book convention in Bangladesh they’re excited aboot – or the thing that gives them joy. Dudes that train in marksmanship, pump chicks (I owe Dodgers 1B Stephen Garvey a nickel for his trademarked phrase) and drink lotsa, lotsa brown likker wouldn’t understand what brings a tech cuk joy.

Sadly, temperance and self respect get the better of me or I’d wish really bad things on both squads.

  6. Nothing beats making their 4 billion person or whatever stadium shut up and leave early. Them being ranked #1 and ruining their season only made it better.

  7. Nothing sucks like the big orange. I hate hillbillies. Phat fill…ed will live in infamy forever………Can I say the Bowels from obknoxiousvulle are my biggest hate around, though living in Alabama and those insufferable horns down people are close. So I guess little brother who is not a threat EVER will get me as a fan vs. the DoNut Shoppe……….Don’t know their ABC’s
    Aladawg OUT!

  8. Also, we’re all confident that kid flipping off Hairy Dog is on the phone with his mom asking her to come pick him up, right?

      • Understanding marketing ideas and shit can git misspelled…..WTF is gameek, should this be a nerd football attempt at 4 tickets, 4 hotdogs and 8 cokes to wash that shit down with a wonderful thursday night at Mark Richt Field….nerd football is another “L” away from 2026 nerd football reality….

  9. About the only thing better than a meteor would be Tech winning in regulation time, but the replay booth adding 1 second of stoppage time and the Vowels pull out an improbable victory (which is what their daddy should have done to their mama – h/t Coach 30). There is now precedent for such shenanigans…

  10. This is the opposite of a meteor game. I don’t care much about who loses as long as one of them does and they both look crappy in the process. But based on their home opener I don’t think Tech can handle Tennessee. I wouldn’t mind seeing something like that Michigan game and if Tech gets the extra second that’s fine.

  11. A tech loss is always a good thing in any situation. As much as it pains me, SEC teams need to win their out of conference matchups to keep strength of schedule. I won’t cheer for our SEC bretheran as much as be relieved when they don’t lose. Except LSU.

  12. Tech hasn’t been relevant in so long. I detest them, but those buttchuggers from the hills are first team I pull against every season. As Ranger Russ would say, FUCK THE MOTHERFUCKERS!

  13. I’ll never cheer for anything orange unless it’s a Varsity Orange. I cannot ever cheer for tech because that rivalry hatred goes back to 1964. However, there are many tech grads throughout my extended family therefore the only solution for eternal harmony is that we never play tech. This can only be achieved by UGA scorching techs earth until they give up and drop to NAIA level. If the color orange winning helps then it is what it is. Go Dawgs!
