Georgia got lucky because Alabama could t win enough games. That’s a funny way of saying Georgia was better. “I’d win this fight if you weren’t kicking my ass! You’re just lucky.” Hokay.
Even Saban says to Kirby after the game in Indy, “You kicked our ass in the 4th quarter.” He knew his team couldn’t hold up over 60 minutes against us that night.
Gumps (and that’s insulting to Forrest Gump) are so stupid to make claims like this. We beat the Tennessee and LSU teams that beat them like a freaking drum in 2022. None of them remember the fact they didn’t score a TD with “Jamo” in the game with their future #1 overall pick and Heisman QB in 2021. You don’t see Georgia people running around after that SECCG in 2021 talking about the flu. We took the L.

You also don’t hear Georgia fans making the excuse for the 2021 SEC CG that our starting QB was injured and couldn’t make it back.
i can understand why Gumps and Gump Adjacents want to dwell on Saban era results. But Nick is gone. And even with Nick, UGA won 2 of the last 3 NCs. Nick won 0. DeBoer has a good record at other places, but nobody in the SEC is scared of him. Everyone outside the SEC thought Jimbo would roll into A&M with his FSU ring and just be The Man. You won in the defunct Pac 12? Congrats. This isn’t the Pac 12.
if he pulls it off, hats off. But I won’t assume he’s just walking in after the GOAT and not missing a beat.
Awww, I dunno, 81. Give ’em a couple, three years for the recruiting thing to settle out. Then we’ll really know.
i’m not saying DeBoer is the next Germy Pruitt (he probably has heard of asparagus), but he doesn’t just have to be elite to survive. He has to be elite among the elites. James Franklin at Penn St winning 10 games a year? He’d be fired in 3 years in Gump World.
They aren’t bereft of talent, but his grace period is probably 10-2 and a playoff spot this year. Less, and here come the long knives. No NC in the next 3 years? Adios. A 5-7 year (unlikely, but what if)? Adios.
It took them 25 years to find the next Bear. But sure, maybe the new guy is the next Saban.

hiw long will that fool people? Making the final 4? You had a great year. Short of that? To me, it’s no better than finishing 8 in the final poll now. You had a good year, but you weren’t a factor. The Gumps always have an excuse. They can’t accept the fact that sometimes, the other guy is just better than you. OSU folks are getting to be the same way.
DeBoer ain’t exactly an ace recruiter. He’s never going to have as good a roster as he will have this season ever again. If he can’t do it with Saban’s players he almost certainly won’t do it. It’s going to take time for the reality to hit them but it’s over for Alabama.

Brooks Austin of The Film Guy podcast said the other day that this upcoming season will be the best roster De Boer will have at Alabama because he hasn’t shown that he can recruit at anywhere near Saban’s level.
and he doesn’t even have all of SABAN’S players. Truly curious to see what he does with Milroe, who wasn’t a tremendous short/intermediate passer. Maybe he’s Penix 2.0, which would be bad news for the non Gump portion of America. If he isn’t, that could be a problem for the Gumps.
Give credit to Marvin Harrison for his statement. His coach just used that as a sorry ass excuse after the kicker kicked the worst kick of his or any other kicker’s career. Coaches are such CTA’s (cover their Ass) can’t just say it was a hell of a tackle.
