Todd Gurley, ladies and gentlemen.
Can you believe we had Gurley, Chubb, and Sony in the backfield at the same time? An abundance of riches, to be sure.

Nick Chubb might be my all time favorite but it always bugs me that people are so quick to say he was better than Gurley because Iām not sure thatās true. People have short memories. Gurley was special. And what might have been had Keith Marshall not hurt his knee.
TG3II is the best to do it at Georgia since 34. You donāt see a man that big running back kicks. In 2014, he could have told Greg McGarity to f-off after his suspension. Instead, he came back against Auburn and likely shortened his NFL career as a result. In 2013, before tightrope surgery, he came back from a high ankle sprain in a month to beat the Handbags and put us in a position to beat Auburn before you know. In 2012, he was just a freak. Gurshall was a sight to behold when they would get things going (our 2 older dogs are named Todd and Marshall as a result).
I love Nick and Sony, but Todd is 2nd only to CFBās GOAT at RBU.
I think youāre right. One that a lot of people forget was against the poultry in ā14. Gurley ran outside the left tackle only to be met by a bunch of defenders. So he casually reversed field and ran around the right tackle turning a loss into a big gain. Typical of that era I think so body held and wiped it out but it was impressive as hell. I remember thinking, āThere arenāt but a few people that have ever played that can do something like that and make it look that easy.
He also had the long TD run in that game called back by a phantom holding PWG penalty. Of course, weāll never know what might have happened if Bobo gave him the ball on 1st and goal after the interception. Even with that, Marshall Morgan missed no more than a extra point FG to tie that game.
2014 ⦠a real season of what could have been.
It was a weird season for sure. Somewhere Corch Irvin Meyers is screaming at the sky about Mike Bobo.
I know some thought Corch rubbed people the wrong way. I always liked having him comment at GTP … even if sometimes he could be stubborn about his opinions.
Well I wonāt sit here and trash the dude but his Bobo Derangement Syndrome repeater station became way beyond tedious to me..
As good as Chubb is, he wasn’t the kind of homerun threat TG3 was at UGA. Every time Gurley had the ball in his hands, there was a legitimate threat to take it to the house.
Absolutely ⦠and make it look effortless in doing it. That kick return against Clemson came from 5 yards deep in the end zone. The man could move and could just plow through you as well.
and Bobo calling plays. 1st and goal on the 4ā¦ā¦ā¦
I remember seeing him run that kick back against Buffalo in his 1st game at UGA. I told my kids, “we have someone special in that guy. You’ll hear a lot about him over the next 4 years.”
I think it was 2012 v Vandy. I was in the southeast end zone seats and watched Gurley torch them for 130y
Gurley ripped off about a 30y TD run where he ran slap through two LB and then gave maybe the most dirty stuff arm Iāve ever seen in person; treated that poor safety like slapping a puppy into the ground
