Here’s a thought for a slow news Monday:

I gotta admit, I’m with him. I thought Cook was good at Georgia, but saw him as more of a utility guy than an every down running back. Maybe that’s just how loaded we were.

Who from Georgia surprised you as they went to the NFL that you thought wouldn’t be as impactful as Cook has been for the Bills? I’ll say I didn’t think Charlie Woerner would be playing in the pros as long as he has, and maybe Mecole Hardman.

  5. You kind of hint at it here, but I had a related question lately: Did UGA misuse Cook when he was here because they did not believe he could be a featured back? We won it all in his final year, but it feels like a missed opportunity that we primarily used him as a third down or utility back.

    • IMO it is more like Darnell Washington’s success with the Steelers. Darnell was splitting time with Bowers who continues to do well with the Raiders. Cook was part of a great RB room.

    • I think we saw a little preview of his future in the ’21 title game during that 4th quarter death march. He and Zeus alternated carries and just rammed it down Bama’s throat. He was, however, much better than anyone else we had as an all purpose back.

    • I feel like it took a few years in the weight room for him to carry a heavy load on traditional run plays. His body is just completely different now.

  6. I still can’t believe Fitzpatrick made an NFL team not named the Browns, and starts.

  8. David Andrews surprised me by the fact that he started for the Patriots his rookie year.

  9. I guess it should surprise no one that Nick Moore, long snapper, is active for the Ravens. 😉

  10. John Jenkins as the Ravens’ starting nose tackle after 12 years in the league surprised me this year. I knew he was good but didn’t expect that kind of longevity.
