While we’re on the subject of destroying ACC programs for *checks notes* LIFE, how’re things going down in Tallahassee?
Well, let’s say if you could turn the lights on long enough to examine it…not good.
Leta face it, it’s way cheaper to buy out an AD’s contract than, say, this guy’s…

A lingering question sources have told On3 in recent days is whether Florida State moves on from Norvell and who would make the next hire. Alford’s firing signals he will not make the final decision on Norvell or who will handle a possible coaching search.
Senior associate AD Bruce Warwick will serve as Florida State interim athletic director, sources tell On3.
“Changes like this are never easy, but sometimes necessary,” Florida State Board of Trustees Chairman Peter Collins said in a statement. “We have made significant investments and structural changes in our athletics program and Seminole Boosters over the past few years, but more are needed. This step begins the next phase of restructuring that the University must commit to in order to compete in this era of college sports. ”
Alford brought Norvell back for the 2026 season despite a 2-7 finish in 2025 after starting the year 3-0. Florida State is 8-18 since its ACC championship game win in 2023.
With FSU fans crowdsourcing Norvell’s buyout, safe to say that losing the AD is just the first domino to fall.
Sometimes, Kirby just has a way of breaking you. Let’s hope he’s done it to another guy, too…
Fun fact…Alabama lost helmet communications in the second half and scored 32 points against Kentucky.
Maybe it is the coach’s fault, after all.
There’s bama offense behind at the half with coaching. Offense running wild without coach.
I’ve thought the headset communication is overrated.
I think the headset should be forced to cut off when the center is over the ball. At this point, the QB either calls the audible based on what he sees or it’s signaled in from the sideline. If you want to go HUNH/NASCAR, you don’t get to talk to the QB. It’s designed to get the play in not to tell the QB what is going on up to the snap (if before 15 on the play clock).
Sark will never admit it, but I wonder if they did the same thing with Arch in the 4th quarter. Call the play and let them play.
I thought it cut off at 15 seconds?
15 on the play clock
On the ACC side of this, Bobby Bowden is spinning in his grave. At his best, he could beat you with his and turn around beat you with yours. He had great assistants around him.
The big difference is Bowden recruited relentlessly until he got too old. That’s the problem in Tallahassee. Norvell did everything with transfers and doesn’t seem to be a recruiter. He doesn’t seem to be X and O wizard in the mold of Dan Mullen (sarcasm). So, what is he?
There are too many players in Florida (not just NIL blue chips) not to have a roster who can beat anybody. Losing to SMU should be embarrassing to FSU fans.
DeBoer went to the Kamala school of public speaking. What a bunch of gobbledy gook! Had the nice NW tone to it! In way over his head! I like it!!
Ok – for those who want to go there, we aren’t going full Playpen.
Noles @ Tuscaloosa this weekend. Think they’ll be some payback coming to the lowly Noles for their 2025 beatdown of the Tide in Hassee????
Bama by a million……..
Missing the 2023 playoff sucked for both UGA and FSU. Fortunately, we shook it off, kicked their pouting ass, and have continued on at a high level. FSU’s program went into a ditch where they are still stuck. The way they handled the Orange Bowl that season was a disgrace.
Not sold on this Bama team yet. They came from behind to beat a UK team who were 6-5 last season (a team that lost their stud RB in Dowdle) and they had a first year HC in his first season in the SEC. IMHO, Bama isn’t as good as they appear.
When firing your AD is the answer you haven’t asked the right question. The money backers who forced that decision are the same ones who will have to pony up $50million and much more for the new coach and transfers. I seriously doubt FSU guys can catch tOSU, Miami, Texas, etc and will have zero base to build on. Can write the same about Clemson. Some…actually most…programs are going to have to face a harsh reality that they are out of the money chase and need to accept stepping back while lobbying for a financially level playing field that isn’t happening anytime soon if ever.
