This might be a first I’ve heard from the mouth of a football recruit. Sounds like he’s done his research.
Tell me where the kid is lying. Welcome to Athens, Mr. Abrams.
Now if he flips in a couple weeks and names the McCombs College of Business, we might be in trouble.
Way too soon Hoss.
I’m thrilled he is joining the squad, but in the meantime, I couldn’t help but be a little more excited about maybe seeing those helmets again at some point. I’m a traditionalist and will always love the red, but the pearl white helmet with the pant stripe are pretty slick looking! Wouldn’t mind seeing those under the lights for a half!
Until the black jerseys are back to being used, I don’t want any messing around with the uniform.
I think the white helmet looks great … in pictures.
Those white helmets look great…on Grambling, or Georgetown, or any other school with a G besides Georgia.
As a proud TCOB alumnus, I approve of this message. Go, Nick!
Should this future student athlete give UGA football opposition the bidnezz, then a degree from the TCOB is an excellent option…GO DAWGS!!
Yeah, but disappointed we didn’t get Atkinson right here in our back yard. However, when you look and see you have Justin Williams (#1), Chris Cole (#3), Kris Jones (#11), Zay Walker (#1) all ahead of you, not to mention the oil money, what can you expect.
I’m more disappointed that TU flipped Johnson the same day. DT is a much bigger need. Atkinson would have been great, but LB is a deep room.
I will say Signing Day is still months away and the possibility if flipping one or both back still exists.
They could also hit the portal after cashing in.
Who knows?
I know that the staff spent a shit ton of time on Atkinson, since he was 14, to get his signature.
Maybe Kirby is pressuring someone to ante up as we speak and the commitment to Texas is the motivation to step up.
I heard that the kid has some relationship with Adidas that was a sticking point. If that’s the case, that might be an insurmountable problem.
It would be interesting to find out if some jackasses are signing kids to shoe contracts, without transparency, and then the kid is stuck because they can’t play at Nike schools without being in breach.
But its all ok because the same shit happens to computer science majors and stuff.
Reckon instead of getting excited about recruiting, I’ll save my excitement for when (if) Kirby releases a depth chart (lol) or we get a roster.
it’s like the game is slipping away. I’m so thankful I went to the Rose Bowl and saw the students ring the bell after our Natty win versus Bama.
When the cheapest tickets to get into the bama game and the texas game are $600, all suggestions of the death of the sport fail to impress me.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind a death spiral until they fall under $100.
In the meantime all the talk of college football dying reminds me of those who say no one watches the NFL anymore as the league rakes in more cash than any other pro sport by far.
College football as a business will be fine. Morally? Its been fucked for a long time and no one turns off the tv or empties the stadiums.
Just win baby and they will come.
