Late posts again today, scamps. My apologies. Here’s some happy Friday hate posting, courtesy of our friends from Austin, Texas.
Never mind the wins and the quality of opponents, but let’s especially ignore the idea that something just don’t look right about Manning in his first few games of the 2025 season.
I’m sure they’ll take game four results and start comparing him to Peyton or something, but Texas has quickly surpassed Tennessee as perhaps the most delusional fanbase in the SEC, and that’s saying a hell of a lot.
Hmmm, Arch lost to a ranked team and didn’t beat two ranked teams. By Tejas math (meth?), he’ll be extra-double twice as good as Bayou Jeaux!
I don’t think the story is that Arch sucks and will always suck. He might, but that determination will come down the road.
The story is that a lot of folks got WAY over their skis on the kid over nothing more than a name. But what does sports media do other than spew idiocy 24/7/365? I just hate it for the kid who didn’t ask for any of it.
Neither Peyton or Eli lit the world on fire from jump.
I’m old enough to remember when Kirby went hard after the young man.
He did. All of the recruiting services had Arch as one of the top QBs, so I don’t blame Kirby for recruiting him. I blame the fools that rated him highly based on his last name and the fact that he beat up on whatever weak-ass classification he played against in Loozianer.
I don’t think Kirby is moved by recruiting rankings.
No doubt. Its my understanding that we came in second and that the difference was that we were already winning so he wouldn’t get credit if we did well but he’d all the blame if we didn’t.
Hopefully, Stockton will hold down the job well through ‘26 and we won’t have to play the what if or recruiting blame game.
On paper, it appeared that we had a hole at that position. On the field this season? So far, so good, but a long ways to go.
There’s only room for one blame game around here.
He picked Texas over UGA because he thought there would be less PRESSURE from the fans.
Sure, but Peyton also started as freshman and Eli as a sophomore. Arch is 3 years in.
Will Arch become a good serviceable college QB? Most likely. Will he become a super start? Not likely. Will he ever be anything close to what they hyped him to be? NOT A CHANCE IN HELL!. To be as good as they touted him to be, he would have to be Uncle Peyton, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes all rolled into one.
He’s the second coming of Ron Pawlus!!

Why does anyone listen to these people?
Seems like it’s been a long time since a recruit has been so set up for failure in his first season as a starter. I remember a QB for Notre Dame back in the day that Beano Cook predicted would win at least two Heismans. Never really did anything. Anyone remember the kids name?
Ron Powlus, just came tomind
I think each successive Manning is worse than the previous one. Archie great athlete whose pro career was not what it could have been due to playing for the Saints. Peyton great player but not Tom Brady, but still in the tier below Brady/ Montana. Eli two Super Bowl victories but probably 50% as good as his brother. Arch so far looks super frazzled even against UTEP and San Jose State. It doesn’t mean he won’t get better but he’s more Driskell than Tebow to date.
You hate to see it..but…
The delusional contest between the fans of the Hamburgers and Hillbillies is amazing. The excuse maki g by each is itself delusional. In the light of Nicholson in a few good men, “referees and injuries, wind gusts and lineman slips, play calling and drive stalling” what else do you have for me. Texas and Tennessee both suck Conecuh Sausage. WHINERS!!
Is it possible to think the Mannings may have known Monken was likely to head back to the NFL at first opportunity, and Stockton wanted to be the QB at Georgia from the day he first picked up a football?
Manning goes to Sark who is not going to the league, and Stockton flipped immediately to UGA after Bobo was blamed at South Carolina.
Just a thought.
Agree always heard the Stockton Bobo connection was at the heart of his initial selection and the basis for the flip.
Would be awesome if the Stockton-Bobo tandem led a great UGA season. I’d love to see the redemption story & put my doubts about Bobo to rest once & for all. It would be another legend and I’d be just as wrong as I was about Stetson in early 21. Please let it happen.
I honestly think it could occur with the mix of top shelf seasoned & raw talent with the very high ceiling we have. We need to find a pass rush, better secondary coverage and better OL play and we’re as good as anyone. Or we could continue with injuries & drop 2-3 games. I’ll be very happy if we can beat Bama but I feel a little ‘believe it when I see it’ vibe. If we drop that one it seems very difficult to win every game against Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas & GA Tech. Heaven forbid FU steps up with a big game the same day we seem uninterested. 11-1 to 9-3 seems to be our over/under depending on bounces, injuries & good fortune.
Either way, Kirby has us in the hunt as usual.
If you didn’t know Big UT was more delusional than little ut then you never lived in Austin.
