Whatever theory you’ve got, it looks like they’d buy it.

I think VaTech will make an even harder push than before to land Shane Beamer. It might be time for him to go there too. With Sellers returning, there were big expectations for USC and they were being dominated Vanderbilt even before Sellers was injured.

I don’t think he’ll go to VT. He’d be living in his dad’s shadow the rest of his career. I also think he will have a greater change to make the CFP at SCjr than he will in Blacksburg, despite the much tougher competition. The ACC will soon be competing against the MAC/WAC after their big names leave for greener pastures.
Disagree, 8-9 wins at VT can go along way. Uscjr loses this weekend and they may pay for the plane ride to Blackburg.
Uscjr is a delusional bunch. If the playoffs expand then being the 3-4 best team in the ACC is much easier that the 5-6 team in the SEC.
All depends on the contract. Stoops maybe thinking he should have taken another job with Kentucky fans talking about firing him. UK, and USCe are the same type of job big expectations without the reseources to get there. I also see VaTech as being a bit slower to fire him.
Granted VaTech has big expecations, on the flip side VaTech has a history of keeping a coach that doesn’t beat top 5 teams, just gotta make the playoffs somewhat regularly.

Paw raised. It was me asking about “Flat Earthers”. The collective IQ of the chickens has always been in question. That said, some of the utterances from Vol nation give them a real run for their money.
Their fan base zip code is the same as Fantasy Island. There history of failure is epic. Beamer offers them the best chance of long term success they’ve ever had. Of course they will run him off at some point. I’ve read there is bad blood between his family and the current AD. Based on that alone my guess is BigFoot is a good possibility as the next hire.

On one hand, in any given week you can probably flight track most departure-destination locations. That bit has jumped the shark since Auburn to Louisville days.
On the other hand, not for nothing is SC known as the Graveyard of Coaches. They come in, get a marquee win or two against us, can’t keep it going on fumes for long, and quit. Three national champion coaches (Dietzel, Drooling Lou, and He Who Must Not Be Named) have been humbled at SC. So sad.
