NIL and Void

”Kirby can’t win in the NILnera”.

Interesting to note that this years National Championship matchup featured one team at the bottom of the list and another that’s not even on it.

Great equalizer, or great compromiser?

Which two surprise teams who aren’t on this list will magically make their way to the CFP next year? I look forward to Kentucky versus Colorado late January of 2027. Don’t you?

As I mentioned yesterday, though:

Mahalo.

  1. Kirby hasn’t won a playoff game since 2022! Fire Kirby, PAWWWWLLLL!

Yes, there’s a ridiculous fringe segment of our fan base who believes that.

2023 – lost 1 game by 3 (it was the wrong game to lose)
2024 – lost 2 regular season games and laid an egg in New Orleans
2025 – lost 2 games by a total of 6 points (the safety was just stupid)

The NIL juggernaut that is supposed to be Texas got whipped twice by Georgia in the regular season and beaten once in Atlanta in the SECCG.

But I’m just a Disney Dawg.

    • Obviously, any loss is the wrong game to lose, can we say the 2023 edition of UGA football was wronged by the cfp committee or their hand wringing was misguided by the belief that only the best 4 get invited, not the underlying fact of two sec institutions getting involved in the playoff was Borrrrring… you can try to feed me all that conference champions only B.S. all day, not gonna’ subscribe…..GO DAWGS!!

      • That comment is fair, DIW. Bottom line is we knew we were in a likely de facto quarterfinal game and had to win to get in. Flip the Bama SECCG loss with a regular season loss against an SECW team (other than the Barn), and the Dawgs are in the CFP.

        • Fast forward to the good old ” it depends on a good loss” B.S., no self respecting human should utter such B.S., without suffering some sort of permanent industrial strength duct tape over the pie hole… tosu is beaten by three in it’s championship game, oh, it’s a good loss, the Fucking cfp ass wipes dismiss it, Number 1 ranked and undefeated, UGA football loses by three in the 2023 seccg, gets dropped 4 spots out of contention for what we all can agree on would have been Back2Back2Back titles and that feat would never be matched, never, never, never…oooooh, are we saying whut’s good enough for thee, isn’t good enough for me…depending on whut Mickey says, those weak knees on the cfp committee should never show their person in public….GO DAWGS!!

  2. I was just going to say how lovely it is to not see Florida or Auburn on that list. As for which teams not on that list to next make the playoff? I’d go with USC and Arizona.

  3. I was told several times that the only game that matters is the last one. Kirby hasn’t won that since 2022. All the others are meaningless.

Or at least that’s what I’m told.

  4. Being out here on the left coast it was interesting to see only one California team on this list, Fresno State.
