Stockton v King

COFH is shaping up to be a duel of the two best dual quarterbacks in the nation. If you’d told me that going in to the season, I’m not sure I’d have believed you.

As a quick note, out of Tech’s 5591 total offensive yards, Haynes King is fully accountable for 2701, so nearly 50% of the offense.

Meanwhile, some deserved praise for Gunner:

The defensive strategy is going to be to contain King and get him off the field.

The offensive strategy is going to be to keep him from getting back on to it.

Go ahead and start Munsoning now. It’s appropriate.

  1. Munsoning, yes. I have to admit though it is fun in the rare times that COFH means something in the grand scheme of college football. I really wish this game was at Historic Mark Richt Field. This being played in MBS really takes away from the atmosphere in my eyes.

    • Yeah, I extremely dislike the venue change. Even worse our fans will jump at the chance to “take over the Benz,” totally bankrolling Tech. Tech is at a severe financial resource deficit and we’re going to bail them out. It helps their NIL pool and ability to pay Key and Faulkner. They ain’t moving the game to lose money!

    • I love Mark Richt Field. It is small enough that you feel up close to the action and can almost see the frustration on the Tek players faces. For the last 30 years, I have gone there expecting them to have replaced the old-troughs in the men’s restroom, but they are still there. I do respect tradition. BTW, my Tech season ticket holding relatives are big mad that they don’t have tickets to the UGA game, which is 95% of the reason why Tek fans exist.

Tech is heavy run oriented on offense and that gives me more hope and less Munson. I think that we can run on them, but I worry that we seem to make every QB we face into Joe Burrow.

      • I think the ancient Romans installed those troughs. Tech’s rocket science alumni too poor to upgrade.

    • I like the fact that thousands more Georgia fans can attend at MBS than at Mark Richt Field

  2. If they couldn’t beat us in all those overtimes last year I have no reason to worry this year. Last year’s team loses the Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Auburn games.

  3. The way Haynes King plays, it literally looks like he’s trying to get hurt sometimes. Between now and COFH, I think there’s a good chance somebody obliges him. And if they lose King, they are well and truly done for the year. – PDawg30577
