Did you know…

Woodring has the highest field goal percentage among all SEC kickers (I’m assuming this is all time, but safe to say at least this century).
Also interesting to note that Pod and Rod are in the top 10. When Kirby said he prioritizes special teams, man, he wasn’t kidding.
Bet the house on him missing a FG Saturday resulting in a Georgia loss. My inner Munson is at DEFCON 5…….
This edition of UGA football will not let a made/missed FG detour 2025, now a slow offensive start or a reintroduction of the bammer qb to the Heisman trophy isn’t out of the realm…GO DAWGS!!
DEFCON 5 is good. It gets worse as the number gets lower.
Wrong level – I meant DEFCON 1
Quick takeaways:
I would have guessed that Woodring, Pod, and Rod were all 90% or better based on how clutch they seemed. I’m betting most of those misses came on extremely long attempts.
At a glance, it looks like UGA has more players (5) in that top 20 list than anybody else, and that’s pretty cool.
I’m remembering a chip shot that Hot Rod missed vs USCe in OT that ended the game and made Muschamp happy. It’s funny how it’s easier to remember the misses than the clutch kicks.
5 of the best 17 kickers in the SEC this century.
Move over Kansas, we are KU.
Stats are since 2000. Woodring has been outstanding (and was again on Friday). It sucks that we couldn’t take the 2nd half kickoff and do anything with it. 20-3 at that point probably would have opened the floodgates.
That one extra point Pod missed was his last one at the end of the TCU game when the Thunder from Down Under mishandled the snap after SBIV had gone to the bench. Without that, I don’t think we would have missed a PAT in the Smart era.
What sucks is that we didn’t get the 2 points the defense earned and then the short kick after safety from the nerds.
ACC refs are dishonest but couldn’t cheat enough to save the nerds.
But they gave it a try.
I agree but for the fact that ACC refs are some of the most incompetent that can be found.
So Woodring’s missed 7 FGs in his college career. Seems like he missed that many at the very start of his career, but not many after he settled in. Pretty awesome!
