Hey, I guess I was kind of right in my predictions…Oklahoma was one of the first four out and lots of ACC teams in the outside looking in…
Question…would a Georgia-Memphis matchup get you excited for paying a premium for another home game?

And the Mormans vs the Catholics is fantastic. I’m sure it won’t hold but, I’d love to see that matchup.
I would take the sons of Brigham over the spawn of the Pope every time.
The matchup itself wouldn’t get me too excited. The first ever home playoff game in Sanford would get me there though. And the opportunity for an easier path deeper into the playoff. Who am I kidding…it’ll be a one possession game late in the 4th quarter.
“Never say die Dawgs”…GO DAWGS!!
The committee is going to do their damndest to make sure that we have to go through Bama. If both teams win out, Bama will be #2 at best. So they’ll find some lame ass excuse to make us #7 just to set that up.
Yes. They cherish the narrative that Georgia doesn’t really belong cause Bammer.
So?
Not speaking for the Great Senator from Jawga, seeing his wahoos in the picture might be cause for a huge toast….GO DAWGS!!
We may be # 5 in your chart, those Dawgs are # 1 in our Red n Black hearts….”Who’s that coming down the track, that huge team that’s Red and Black”….GO DAWGS!!
Why not just do top 4 for SEC and B1X each both in one half of the bracket, ND and 7 sisters in the other and let the SEC/B1X winner play ND for the championship? It’s what Disney wants for maximum eyeballs anyway. Conference Championship games could be changed to play-in games for the final spots allowing top teams a week of rest. Now that would be MUST SEE PAY PER VIEW streaming on your $1000/month ESPN app.
Ehhh…who am I kidding. They just going to use AI to generate games on the streaming app and do away with the expense of players, coaches, fans, stadiums, announcers, etc. I personally think Joe Tessitore is an experimental AI bot already.
Well we already have indoor golf. Who knows what kind of crap they will eventually come up with for football.
I’m pulling for a Saturday home playoff game, that would coincide with my birthday. Large tailgate party …….might be the only time in my life I had a big party. Birthdays close to Christmas suck.
Hell no.
I didn’t trade the importance of rivalry games, the significance of the SECCG, and all the other crap that comes with eliminating the bowl season for the playoffs, just to watch UGA play Memphis in early December
It’s all made up and flagellant.
So, it doesn’t appear as if the teams are re-ranked after the 1st round? That’s still unfair to the top seeds where #1 has to play either #8 or #9, but #2 could play #10, #3 could play #11 and #4 could play #12. What’s the point of being the #1 seed then? Am I the only one that doesn’t like it?
I would not be a fan of re-seeding. At some point you have to go with luck of the draw. Plus, I don’t think the #1 seed deserves a big advantage because the seeds are subjective. I realize so are the March Madness seeds, but they have more data points to go off of and the NFL the seeds aren’t created by a committee. The NFL seeds are earned, but you can’t do that in college because there are too many teams and schedules vary too greatly.
The Top 4 get the same advantage with a bye straight to the Semi-finals which I feel is fair.
If Georgia’s playing, I’m fired up and ready to watch. The only thing about playing Memphis that’s scary is the thought of losing to them, which would be as embarrassing as the 2010 Liberty Bowl vs UCF.
I know a lot will change over the next few weeks, but interesting how they have all the SEC teams stacked in the same side of the bracket so they have to eliminate each other.
If we win out even if we’re not in the SECCG, we’re going to be in the top 4.
I predict the winner of the tOSU vs. IU game will be the 1 seed, SEC Champ will be the 2 seed, and then the 3 and 4 seeds will be between the B1G Champ game loser, SEC Champ loser, and the top SEC team that didn’t play in the SECCG.
One scenario would be TAMU loses a close game to BAMA in the SECCG and gets the 3 seed and IU loses a close game to tOSU getting the 4 seed. I think UGA needs a blowout in one of the conference championship games to make the Top 4 if Georgia wins out. That is assuming TAMU, tOSU, IU, and Bama win out the regular season.
If the Bucknuts and the Whosyer-daddys are both 12-0 going into the B1G title game, and the game is close, I fully expect the committee to keep them at 1 and 2. After all, them northern teams are superior to us’ns down here in the former Confederacy.
The committe ranked on feelings, not data.
Ignored head to head and sos.
They are as useless as it’s on a boar hog
at this point, just pick the 1-12 games/matchups bingo style.
It’s all just programming for Disney at this point it’s meaningless.
