So, Week 1 games will feature a #1 vs #2.

Personally, it would be intriguing if the Week 0 games were scheduled after the polls came out to do a top 4 set of games. I wouldn’t mind facing Penn State while Texas plays the Buckeyes, if for anything else, it would make for a great SEC vs B1G weekend.

  1. Rather than scheduling the games after the polls come out, I’d prefer that they not release the polls until part way through the season. Maybe after week 4. That would go a long way towards eliminating these idiotic pre-season biases.

    • True but gotta have something to talk about and now that split national titles are a thing of the past, this is what we get.

  2. So, Indiana gets into the top 20 based on, um, quality loses? They certainly lacked a signature win in 2024. The Hoosiers drew a soft conference schedule and played no one from the SEC or even the ACC. Indiana lost to Ohio State and Notre Dame, the two best teams they played all year. Their 2025 schedule isn’t exactly packed with quality opponents.

    • Well they didn’t go in believing they deserved a place in the playoff with a loss to Vandy.

  3. back in the Big East days a lot of pundits would say that Miami played a soft schedule too…. but the difference between the U and IU is that when da U played top competition they won or it was very competitive… IU is not as tough as bathroom toilet paper at the Ty Ty gas station

  8. Since anOSU won’t have that many opportunities to lose, I hope TX hangs fifty on them…and then the meteor hits when the TX morons flood the field. (this preseason poll is so biased towards the BIG it’s a joke)…I hate to say it, but I actually think the Nerds could whip most of those teams and will finish pretty highly ranked this year.
