Countdown to Georgia Bulldogs Football, 25 Days

Good morning!

We went from 100 degree days to a soupy yard. Got 4,8 inches here between Saturday and Monday, with more on the way. What have your rain gauges been saying?

At least when football gets here, they can still play in the rain (well, barring lightning, etc.). For 25 more days here is card #125:

From Mayretta!

Go Dawgs!

  1. Is Smyrna the gateway to Mayretta or is it the other way around? I had two college friends and roommates from there and they would argue about this all the time.

      • I watched a bit of the Braves game at a favorite watering hole last night. You speak the truth.
Thank Dawg the Margaritas and Fajitas were good ’cause the braves sure weren’t. At least what I saw

        • My sympathies that you can still watch our team play. This season has felt like the inverse of 1991.

      • Going to school at North Cobb, the true redneck school of Snobb County at the time…ahhh my kingdom for a big haired girl that smells of aqua net, boone’s farm and a hint of Marlboro lights…the east Cobb snobbery was real, and Smynnings at that time held the piss bucket for Mayretta

        • North Cobb here as well. Dad was Sprayberry. Mom went to Marietta but lived outside the city until High School and went to Acworth so, she knew plenty of people at North Cobb. Easst Cobb snobbery was real but by the time I was in school West Cobb wasn’t much better with Harrison and McEachern.

          • Yep, Harrison was built after I had matriculated on…but I do recall they split half of one of NC’s graduating class to populate Harrison…and I think that’s where Justin Fields went to hs…I remember Eric Zeier playing at Marietta when I was a Warrior…that dude lit folks up

          • Correct Harrison split NCHS and McEachern but NCHS gained some of Sprayberry’s area. Fields went to Harrison. I just missed Freidenberg at NCHS. We went to a Marietta game and saw Zeier. Mom and Granddad went to Marietta and they were playing I believe Wheeler. Marietta won.

  2. Went to Campbell when it was the original Campbell High School on Atlanta Road. In Smyrna, not Marietta. We all looked down our noses at very close by rival Wills High School, which is where they ended up combining the two schools population. They tried to change the name to Smyrna High but the Campbell family that donated the land for the original school wouldn’t have it, so it went back to the name Campbell but the school was now at Wills High/Nash Junior High location. No more green and white flowing. Things were never the same! They never are!
