In Kirby’s defense, pretty much everybody had Texas winning against Georgia in 2024. Still, he entertained the reporter and said what he had to say, even throwing shade at the Network about it. But he did it in a “nice”, or let’s say, professional way.
Sark, meanwhile, is neglecting the preseason fodder that has declared Texass is back and many thought Texas should win, especially at the stadium where the rule book gets thrown out the proverbial window.
Meanwhile, Archduke got involved in it, making light of an AI generated video that shows Sark punching Holly Rowe in the face.
Arch had to later offer an apology, and Rowe replied that it was all good.
So your wunderkind quarterback gets his signature win, you act like you’ve never been in the arena, and the kid later has to issue an apology. Life comes at your fast, Archie. Let’s just say it starts at the top with the head leader of men, and how he reacted to Rowe in the first place. Instead of taking the time to advocate or beat his chest like Kirby, Sark chose the other road, and that makes all the difference.
Honestly, Sark acted like…
Well, that’s for you to tell us. Was Sark offsides? Even if he was, it’s Austin baby, and they don’t call Texas for penalties in Austin, do they?
Discuss.
He’s a prick. If not for Day’s coaching malpractice Sark would be on a blazing hotseat
This is the truth.
And the missed FG.
If the game proved anything its this:
You’d better be able to rtdb in the fourth quarter to salt away a lead. Especially in a hostile environment.
Otherwise, momentum shifts and its pucker time.
See 2018 Rose Bowl.
Did anybody see whatever it was Archduke was asked about at the press conference? Evidently therr was some graphic Thst went up on social media Thst somehow referenced this that he laughed about that generated a fallout. I dismissed it as people looking for something to be offended by but it was apparently bad enough that Brooks Austin chided him about it.
Never mind. Should have kept reading. I am mid coffee. Sarkisian is too immature to be a head coach same as Freshwater.
Everyone involved with this event bothers me so it’s a big whatever in my opinion.
You could see it on Arch’s face right after he said it that he had screwed up. It was definitely a bad look bringing up a video AI or not depicting of Sark bitch slapping Holly and then running off the field.
Sark is just a jackass and he isn’t that good of a coach.
In the battle of which overrated incompetent does less with the most head coach would choke more. Credit Texas players for not giving up. While Ryan Day again allowed his team to fall asleep and snatch defeat away from Texas.
Too bad they both couldn’t lose.
I respect the come back by Texas. Especially how Muschamp had the defense play in the second half. I will say I didn’t think anOSU looked as dominant as many media heads claim in getting the 20 point lead. Texas mistakes and a fluke turnover play played a huge part in that lead. Texas gave the Buckeyes the ball in scoring position to start the game and also dropped an easy TD pass in the first half on top of that crazy INT when Coleman laid out for the deep ball. I felt it was Texas shooting themselves in the foot as much as anything in the first half.
Jeremiah Smith is a beast though.
That’s the way it really was. Texas played Santa to anOSU the whole first half…starting with the fumble on the opening play of the game.
Neither team scared me, so I’m good.
Sark proves again that jackasses are going to jackass. I don’t know what to think about Arch, but for most of that game, he just looked like ass regardless of how he acted after the game.
If we show up in Atlanta with bad intentions, we’re going to beat the brakes off them.
Arch had some good throws in the first half..his receivers couldn’t catch a cold.
#8 — Coleman-Landers
How dare a 21 or 22 year old laugh at something that in this 40somethings opinion was HILARIOUS and also, let’s not forget- NOT REAL.
Next they’ll be telling me that I can’t laugh at Spaceballs, Airplane, or Christmas Vacation. So inappropriate Pawwwl…
Also maybe Arch is just good, not great. And maybe these teams are good, not great. Like could they both beat us, proly. But could we beat them, proly.
Yeah man I’m with you. We might be minority on this, but I can’t stand seeing all the virtue signaling outrage on this nothing burger. The only thing Arch did wrong was apologize after so such squelching unrighteous indignation came out in the social medias. We are such a soft society. No one was harmed in the making of the ridiculous funny slapstick AI video, and by laughing at it, it doesn’t mean you have fantasies of acting out the AI video in real life.
Om with yall too. Im sorry but it was funny. To me what Sarkisian actually did post game was worse than some silly gif (not worse than if he had actually done it obviously). The absurdity makes it funny. But people clutch their pears over everything anymore. I bet Holly Rowe thought it was kind of funny.
Fify:
“But people (selectively) clutch their pears over seemingly random things far too much.”
Outrage is everywhere and rarely does it make any damn sense leading to a standard-less society thats lost its capacity to know right from wrong and is certain only of whose side they’re standing on when the outrage machine belches and sputters.
Do we not all remember when she got Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried fired???? Their animated corpses would have done 10X better than Fowler and Herbstreit on Saturday night….
And in general, the on-field interviews with the coaches have run their course; the questions and answers are both just word salads and filler at this point. Very rarely is there ever an intelligent question or an insightful answer (if there ever were)…..
No, I don’t remember.
The SEC head coaches are contractually required to the post half and post game sideline interviews. Just like the schools require the coach tomwear shirts with the Nike or Adidas logos.
The SEC head coaches are paid to act like professionals. It was part of Sark’s job to give Rowe a minute of his time. If he doesn’t like doing it he needs to go ahead and do that part of his job and lobby the SEC to change their media contracts eliminating the interviews.
I understand the sideline interviews don’t give fans much information but the media providers think it is worth including the requirement in the media contracts. I bet you Sark preaches to his players to fulfill their commitments to the best of his ability.
From everything I can find the only post game interview the coaches are required to do is the press room interviews at the table or podium after they have left the field. They are highly encouraged and expected to do the on-field post game interview, but if they are busy celebrating with their team or have some school tradition they go do with the team like “the eyes of Texas” like Sark was headed to, then they aren’t required to do the on-field interview. I hate TX, but I say good for Sark here. They made him wait extra time at half time when he was needing to get to his struggling team to make whatever adjustments they could come up with in their limited 20-minute window, and ESPN/ABC couldn’t get their technical issues worked out so wasted his time for a few minutes waiting until he finally walked off. To heck with ESPN and these stupid interviews and with the entitled Holly Rowe. Yeah she survived cancer, but that doesn’t automatically make her a great person. I’ve seen otherwise. I never thought I would ever say this but I stand with Stark on this.
Sound
Well that didn’t go well. Take 2. Sounds like if you ordered a whole boxcar load of tools from Sears & Roebuck, and when it got there Arch Manning jumped out, you’d still think you got a good deal.
Is the video where Holly shoves a girl to get to Sark real or AI?
Don’t know if she shoved anyone to get to Sark, but there are other videos of her shoving lady reporters out of the way to get to a coach in the past that are not AI.
Holly Rowe was doing her job, but she was only going to ask a stupidass question anyway, so I can do without that waste of time.
Arch made a play on 2-3 4th down conversions, and giving credit for being a little better than average for a quarter and a half. The first 2 and half quarters he was the same QB as last year. Coleman adds an additional dimension but I did not see their offense as efficient or dominate. On the road, they will take a loss or 2. Sark is what he is, and appears to react as if he has a little bit of hot seat pressure.
pre game / halftime / post game interviews are nothing burgers.
Texas
Running Backs – better
WR – neutral
Arch – same old same old
D – slightly elevated from last yr
They are still soft mentally, have a lot of money, and still can’t get out of their own way.
I think it was a carryover from Sark waiting around on the halftime interview while ESPN couldn’t get their shit together. Still, while I laughed, it was a bad look for Sark. He’s the head of a multimillion dollar enterprise and he showed his ass on TV.
Texas and OSU are both good, not great, teams. OSU built a lead off of Texas gifts. Credit to Texas for the comeback but it took a couple of improbable 4th and longs, plus a FG shank, to happen.
But the OSU field goal shank under pressure wasn’t improbable, that’s pretty much a given, right??? Haha.
Don’t shit where ya eat.
I have no sympathy for the sideline reporter; but the incident and Manning’s reaction were very revealing in terms of Coach and player staying classy and acting like they’ve been there before. Their facade of bravado aside, the last two times this crew got ranked #1, they immediately folded and gave it back. Stay tuned.
I’ll say it again: The University of Texas is liberal arts school with a steer as their mascot pretending to be cowboys. This is the exact definition if “all hat and no cattle”, or in their terms “cultural appropriation”.
I just realized that a figurative meteor (kind of) showed up for that game.
First off,
Texas is one of the few programs that could make me sort of enjoy a Buckeye win..and visa-versa.
At halftime, the Texas crowd was miserable. bunch of spoiled, arrogant asses.
A lot of them wanted Sarc fired at halftime.
Likely a few of them went home or turned of the TV and went to bed..pissed off.
There’s one side of the meteorite crater!
Meanwhile…halftime in the Buckeye locker room..Mr. Blackbeard and Co. must have thought they were sitting pretty, not comprehending that old Lady Luck had been gracing them just so she could show them what a fickle bitch she can be in the second half. Oh..I’m sure he gave the speech about how “this game isn’t over”…”Texas can still come back if we don’t finish the job”…etc…(but you know he probably didn’t really believe his own words.)
And we’ve all seen how officiating works in the shorthorn pasture.
Both teams sucked for half a game.
Ohio State fans were giddy at the half but ended up going to bed late and all pissed off.
(I know a few of them..they’d rather lose to Iowa or Indiana than to an SEC team).
And that’s the other side of the crater.
Ohio State was knocked off it’s perch by an SEC team…after all the talk about how the SEC is the weaker conference. And Oregon…LMAO!
With help from the Big Ten officials OS probably runs the table against the rest of the schedule (unless MI needs an extra second to beat them) and the whole Yankee media will be speculating on a TX/OSU rematch in the NC tournament.
But what the media really dreams of is a Buckeye/Irish NCG.
Which leads to a question.
What are the chances that Ohio State and ND are in the same bracket for the playoffs?
Mr. Blackbeard … that’s good right there. I like it with the Just for Men spokescoach.
Arche Manning not coming to UGA and being developed as a ring winning QB and man is the worse North American Football decision since Raymond Rice tuning up his girlfriend SAD
Leave Sark alone. Last Call at the Longhorn Club was called and he had to get going.
All said. Yeah. Sark has mastered the art shittin and fallin back in it. If it weren’t for Muschamp he might not even have a job today. the Manning prodigy and adequate but still not the superstar proclaimed by the glazing talking meat heads. And did I mention that he looks like Thelmas husband, Darryl Dickinson, in the movie Thelma and Louise? Yeah, the used car salesman.
