Tuesday Refugee Roundtable: An Axe to Grind

Some people are calling this B1G petty:

Followed by further snark:

Anyway, the point of this is to say this: if there was a ban on anybody at Sanford, I’d have to say I’d include Jan Kemp, Corch Irvin Meyer, and Steve Spurrier. Also, Chip Towers. My ex wife. I could think of a few more, but I like the petty.

So today’s Roundtable…is this petty, or is this part of what makes College Football great? Is this because Portnoy literally bought Michigan’s freshman starting quarterback, and they’re trying to keep him from buying Buckeye recruits?

Also…who would you ban from Sanford, if you had to? While I get the banning part, there’s a part of me that would’ve welcomed the chance to have Florida in Sanford and have Spurrier and Corch strapped in a chair, Clockwork Orange style, with their eyes peeled and watching Kirby’s stomping of the Gators like the 2017 Cocktail Party. But also never having them set foot in our stadium would be alright by me.

FTMFs.

  1. It is extremely petty, but would expect nothing less from those douche nozzles.
The only people I would like banned from Sanford Stadium are the ones who are watching the games through their phones to record the game while blocking others’ view, WHEN THE GAME IS HAPPENING LIVE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!

  2. Portnoy should be banned period.

His Majesty Michael Adams should never be allowed back, along with his lacky, Scrooge McGoofity.

  3. Was Furman Bisher actually told he was unwelcome after he libeled Wally Butts, or did it just work out that he became Bobby Dodd’s sycophant?

    • Furnan Bisher became Bobby Dodd’s sycophant long before the 1962? Saturday Evening Post article.
Bobby Dodd knew that Tech would benefit if Georgia’s leading sports editor loved Tech. Therefore when Bisher’s first son was born in the late 1940s Dodd visited the Bishers in the hospital and promised the baby boy Bisher a football scholarship to Georgia Tech.
The boy didn’t play football but Dodd kept reminding Bisher of the promise. Low and behold, Bisher’s son spent 4 years at Tech on a football scholarship but never stepped football on a practice field or was on a depth chart.
      THAT’S why Bisher worshipped Dodd.

  4. F*ck that. Let him watch the ass kicking in person. Or are they just too chicken sh*t cause they think they might lose?

    • All things being equal, figure most are “just too chicken sh*t.” lol Especially, when hiding outside of Toppers…

  5. Portnoy is a douche, but it is petty as well. I’d ban Nick Fairley if I had a choice.

    • I have not watched Gameday since the Pro Wresting field goal kicker has been on. He so full of Sh*t you could give him an enema and bury him in a match box.

    • I can’t beleive he still has a job at ESPN given the bullshit he pulled on this podcast.

    • Legend has it that said digit is pickled in a jar deep in the catacombs of Stegman. The Circle of Honor adds a couple of drops to their post meeting Bloody Mary’s and as long as the jar holds out? Tennessee will never beat Georgia…

    • Or……we should build a shrine to the pinky finger, mount it on a folding chair, and put it all on a block of granite with a plaque listing 21st century UGA v TN games and scores. Ban all the Mays family.🙂

  6. Phat Phil, The Vol Hillbilly band, Al Ciraldo, William Faulkner, The Stoops Bros, Danny Kannel, Air Supply, Greg Sankey, Aunt Bea, Ara Parseghain, anyone serving on a 60’s draft board, Joe Parterno, Matthew McConaughey, my Dentist, Tweety Bird, Peter Paul and Mary, Greg Sankey, Popeye the sailor man, my ex-wife and her mom and her dad and her brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and grandparents, Greg Sankey and Fish Fry and Bill Dance.

  7. A couple of things…

I thought the billionaire with the wife who was a Michigan alum was the guy who fronted the money for their freshman QB?

Also, I heard on the radio that Ohio State didn’t actually do this. Fox has a policy that is what is not granting him a media pass and it was then spun into “OSU banned him!!!!”
