Methinks that Sean McVay was told by the front office folks that money talks, so start Simpson, screw Stet. That’s unfortunate but that’s the NFL.
At least Stet cleaned up his act, and even if he didn’t, Bennett knows all too well from his time in Athens that the Champagne Room at Toppers has a certain meaning, and he’s not all about it.
I’ll take flip phone Stetson over Deshaun any day.

Very interested to see how both situations play out. Cleveland would love Stetson. My instincts tell me McVay doesn’t want to let him go and that Monken wouldn’t sign up for it. I say Bennett sticks in LA for now and Monken deals with the Watson/Prime Jr. saga this season. Maybe things shift and sift for 2027.

My supposition is that they are advertising Simpson as trade bait. And he’s done a good job. Somebody is going to want to bring him in.
I don’t know if McVay, as a former georgia HS qb himself, is living some vicarious dream through Stet, but it does appear that he’s ready to give him the qb1 job once Stafford hangs it up. That’s my prediction, again, fwiw.
Why they used such a high pick on Simpson? Who knows? The lack of cohesion between ownership/management/coaching in the NFL has always been a mystery to me.
