The days where the NCAA would make death penalties and kill a career for a minor infraction has given way to media rights regulatory control, and that’s all this is. Texas Tech saw the risk wasn’t worth the reward, and the risk was being excluded from the media empire that is college football.
Oh, and Texas Tech is not pursuing the return of Sorsby’s $5 million dollar contract. At least, not yet.
