Senator Blutarsky tailgate announcement

From some of the Senator’s closest friends:

GTP Refugees, Tim Peterson and the Senator’s closest friends will hold a Get The Picture tailgate to honor the life of the Senator, Michael Brochstein, on October 5 for the Auburn game. As you know, the Senator did not care for Auburn. Even more important is we believe there will be a good chance that the game will not be a noon game (GTPR NOTE: The game has already been announced as a “flex” game where ABC/ESPN has committed the game will kickoff at 3:30 or after). That will allow us to celebrate the Senator in proper fashion. The tailgate will be in the North Railroad lot just off S. Thomas St. (GTPR NOTE: See map above) Unfortunately, only donors with passes can park there. We have two parking spots that will allow us to spread out a little. If anyone else who plans on joining us for the festivities has a space in the lot, please let Tim know and we’ll consolidate even more spaces.

We plan on getting to the lot early that day and claiming a spot near the very end of the lot. The place will be near where the pedestrian bridge from Baldwin Hall crosses S. Thomas Street and enters the lot (GTPR NOTE: That’s the south end of the lot closest to the stadium and Baldwin Street). The event will be B.Y.O.B. (beer and bourbon).

More details will be provided when the game time is announced. Please contact Tim Peterson at timpetersondc@gmail.com should you have any questions.

We look forward to being with y’all to celebrate the Senator’s wonderful life.

Go Dawgs!  Tim Peterson

About eethomaswfnc

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. (I quote Animal House out of full respect and love for the Senator, but somehow this seems to fit. Please take it in the spirit it is given.)

I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part!

  2. Unfortunately I can’t make it to Athens that weekend, but I hope you all have a raucous time honoring the Senator!

  3. Has anyone checked with the sponsors of this meeting. Is it OK for us to show up?

I don’t know what I mean, I just don’t want to interfere with the plans.

  4. sadly can’t make it

will consume the finest Belgian beer in his honor and memory

  5. Tim Peterson and all the Senator’s crew are great Bulldogs and great Americans. I hope to run into some of them tomorrow, I know where they like to congregate! Well done, boys. It is fitting, and also more than a little sad, but it’s also awesome. Micheal was truly a good dude.
