Red and Black Friday – Again

I knew it was going to be at the Benz, but I guess the ACC does like whatever revenue they can generate riding off the coattails of Georgia’s brand during Black Friday prime time.

As a reminder, Georgia vs Yechh was the most watched regular season ACC game with roughly 8.5 million viewers. The second most watched ACC regular season game was Georgia versus The Fighting Dabos with 7.6 million viewers. Third highest was Miami versus Florida with roughly 6.5 million.

The highest pure ACC matchup was the ACCCG, which garnered 6 million eyes on the screen.

The Georgia-Georgia Tech game was an eight-overtime thriller when it was played on a Friday during the 2024 season.

And so it will now be played on Friday, Nov. 28 in the 2025 season. The ACC announced the news on Monday night as a part of the ACC Huddle show.

In addition to being played on a Friday, the contest will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Let’s try to wrap this one up in regulation, shall we? And for good measure, let’s score in the first half this time, too.

Matter of fact, we need to make that a habit in 2025, anyway.

  1. I actually enjoy the Black Friday date because it allows me to enjoy the other big rivalry games on Saturday.

This next version of Clean, Old Fashioned Hate will be much different for me. My son elected to attend Tech last week. My wife and I are still trying to recover from it…lol. He claims he is still going to pull for Georgia. We will see. Good lord, what did I do wrong raisin’ that boy?!

    • Apparently y’all raised him to love the Dawgs and compete academically at a high standard. Good Job!

  2. Obviously ESPN runs college football. After attending the last 2 trade school contests I welcome being indoors.

  3. when we win in 2025, don’t we vanquish their lead on the losing streak in the series?

  4. Some may like the Friday game with tech, but I honestly hope this doesn’t get to be a habit.

  5. I like the Friday game but I have zero interest in going to the Dome. I had rather see the game on CMR field and would be far more likely to purchase tickets.

  6. UGA should get a cut of the ACC’s tv money. There’s no way that Tech or Clemson would pull that many viewers in those games if they weren’t playing the Dawgs.

  7. Really dislike this development. Tech gets more money/relevancy for this game in the dome than at their trash stadium. Also, they dodge (another) a Bulldawg takeover. I wonder: will I even College Football by next Thanksgiving?

except we all know: I’ll be all in for the Spring Game like the loser, chump I am Lol

Heyell, my friends are already putting bets down on how excited I’ll be for the next basketball game after we win one hahaha I SUCK!

    • There will be a Dawg takeover. It will be bigger than what they experience at Richt-Smart Field at Vince Dooley Stadium. I would assume MBS will sell the upper deck, and that will be 90% UGA fans.

      • 20,000 Dawg fans in the upper deck at $150 a pop = $3MM; Arthur is a dumbass when it comes to drafting Dawgs, but he knows how to separate Dawg fans from their wallets – they definitely will not be closing off the upper deck like they’ve done for Tech’s other games there….

  8. I like it, late November could be crappy weather, and MBS will allow many more Dawg fans to attend. When was the last regular season game that we lost in Atlanta?
