Here’s a stat for you.

Question – what do they name in honor of Kirby when it’s all said and done?

Also, where’s Richt’s honorary named location?

    • Passes Richt then decides if Dooley’s legacy is worth chasing. I’d lean towards yes unless the career Mt. Everest challenge and a Billion dollar deal moves him to the NFL.

      The future dome over Sanford or enhanced Skybox ring encircling the whole stadium will bear his name but “The FTMF Kirby Smart” athletic complex has a nice ring to it. A audio loop of Kirby at practice could be played every day but Sunday over the loudspeakers at high noon.

  2. So 4-5 more seasons to pass Right, but 9-10 more seasons to pass Dooley. What do people think? Kirby coach long enough to top this list?

    He is already the best coach in school history for me. The consistency, championships, and win percentage do it for me.

    If McFrugal were still around I’d guess they’d name the indoor practice facility after Richt.

    • Seems more likely to pass Richt in 3 seasons, Dooley in 8. Think he makes it that long, yes. And retires right after that.

  5. Find/build something new to name after him – there was no need to name the field!

  6. I think Kirby will pass Richt, but will not catch the 201 wins set by Dooley. Smart is more than capable of posting Vince Dooley numbers, but he will not coach long enough. The current college football environment will force Kirby to retire prior to reaching 201 wins. I think we will be lucky to have Kirby for another 4 to 5 years.

    • I don’t like the idea of adding any more names to the field or stadium. Maybe rename the team: “Kirby’s Bulldogs”

    and we named the stadium Sanford Son Stadium.
    seeing the red fox youtube the other day triggered this dumb thought. i’m comin’ Elizabeth…

  9. Would be interesting to see how many teams have 4 coaches with 100+ (moving towards 140+ rapidly) wins…. Obviously could only be the bluest of the blue bloods….

  10. Now, that’s thinking “ out of the box ! “ You are way ahead of the rest of us ? GENIUS! Also, there would be a “ wonderful “ benefit from this re-name? We could sell RIPPLE Wine in the stadium ?

  16. Wow. Donnan only had 40 wins? That actually shocks me. I thought it was more.

    Assuming Smart learns the last Saban lesson he needs (hold coaches to the same high standard as players):

    I think Kirby passes Smart and wins at least 4 more SEC and 2 more national titles.
