But depending on how you answered to the Saturdays is for the Boys post, maybe it’s just another Saturday next week.

College football starts next weekend.

That is, pending any outstanding injunctions or litigation that may stop it.

One thing I’ve learned this offseason…anything is possible.

  2. It’s almost here. Once June gets here I feel like the count down is on. February through May is the worst part of the year to me. If it wasn’t for turkey season it would really suck.

  3. I can hold on during spring with baseball and softball. Great seasons for both. I am with Mike on Turkey season, start of season the weather is perfect. Watched some LLWS, Both boys and girls.But now l am ready for some football Dawg style!!! 🏈🏈

    • If there were any turkeys around our farm I would agree. I get thru the spring by crappie fishing. Then summer with snapper fishing. I’ll spend the first game sitting on a dove field, 2nd game grouper fishing then get back to Athens for chokelahoma.

  5. Somehow there’s something sublime, almost exotic, about that very first Thursday night game between Whatsamatta U vs Little Sisters week 0. Almost like a Big Mac; you know it’s crappy, but sometimes nothing does it quite like a Big Mac!

  7. Week 0 is one of many newly founded dumb ideas from ESPN and college football. Sure, let’s tease everyone with almost football and let the sisters of the poor have their 15 minutes under the lights. No, real football begins Labor Day weekend. As far as Georgia football is concerned, I will be on the golf course for the 1st 2 games of the season, and very likely the 3rd game as well. Georgia could go 12-0 this season, or 6-6 and my interest level would not change. I find the current state of college football to be less than enjoyable. I hope and pray that once there is a chill in the air, the slight scent of bourbon in the mornings, and a crackling fire in the evenings that my opinion changes. If not, no one from the NCAA, UGA, nor ESPN will come begging for my return. For me, college football is dying a death by a million cuts and no one in charge seems to care.
