Should the FSU alumni association kick this doofus out?

SEC rage baiter and Florida village idiot Danny Kanell is at it again.

If you are an FSU graduate who holds up Miami as a positive for anything, there is no way your blood has any garnet and gold in it now. Chief Osceola and Renegade should run over him or kick him in the head next time he’s on the sideline pregame in Tallahassee. His football IQ may improve by a couple of points as a result.

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. Well, one thing’s for damn sure, he has absolutely nothing to brag on about F$U. That place is a dumpster fire. 🔥

    • True, but the point is more about what would the reaction be if the schools were Florida and us and the pundit was David Pollack championing the SEC by using a hated rival to try to make a stupid point. I would be livid about it.

      1) He’s cherry-picking.
      2) He’s using his school’s biggest conference rival to make his cherry-picked point.
      3) He’s using a school that has an NIL advantage that every other ACC school could only dream of.

It’s everything wrong about the current state of college football rolled up into one TwiX.

I’m not saying Saban is an honest broker in all of this although he could tell the rest of the sport to go pound sand while he goes and plays golf and counts his money in South Florida. Kanell is trying to take a cheap shot at Saban and ESPN and using Miami to do it.

  2. He only exists to waste anyone’s time who engages with him. He’s much more than the Florida village idiot. Give him is due he’s the biggest idiot in CFB. That is quite the accomplishment for any Florida boy.

    • The thing is he wasn’t the rage baiter he is now. Maybe he figured out that schtick pays the bills.

Once FSU got left out in 2023, he has become SEC obsessed (at least online … I refuse to listen to his garbage on SXM). He still discounts 63-3.

        • I don’t follow him online. The only reason this even came up was that the X algorithm served it to me when I hit the “For You” tab on the app.

  3. ACC is the ALL CHUMP CONFERENCE. Danny dumbass would be a great commish. Folks paying big money to get OUT! You can’t tell anybody anything if they think they know it all!!FTMF.

  4. If I want to hear anything about college football (besides podcasts) I force myself to listen to Danny boy in the mornings, but mostly for his sidekick Dusty. Dusty’s moving to the afternoon
this Monday, and I sure do hope his replacement is a good counter-balance to the absolute steaming hot anti-SEC takes DK spouts off.

    • If I’m going to listen to college football content, I just want the person to be somewhat of an honest broker about it. For example, I don’t give a damn what Stephen A. Smith says about college football. He doesn’t follow it, and his antics are a sideshow. On the other side of this is Danny Kanell and Ari Wasserman. They claim to be experts but aren’t objective and rage-bait. If you want to listen to Andy Staples (for being a Gator, he’s pretty darn objective), you have to put up with Ari (I refuse to).

It’s one reason I do listen to Josh Pate when the topics he’s going to discuss interest me. I don’t give a damn about Big 10 camp intel or his interview with Texas Tech’s coach. I don’t agree with him all the time, but he’s at least coming at the discussion with an attempt to be objective.

  5. Kannell is Pat McAfee without the tattoos and “entertainment”. He offers no useful insight and is a bias machine with really useless takes. Honestly shocked he is employed.

    • JP, Kanell used to talk about ball … and was pretty darn good at it. Now it’s all of the other stuff. He’s just bitter that he’s not an in-game analyst like a Klatt or Herbstreit (both of which make my ears bleed).

  6. The difference in the SEC now vs last 20 years is depth of the top teams. The 2021 Georgia team or 2020 Alabama team had 3 deep that could play anywhere. Now a lot of those kids are in the big ten ($$$). The top tier of every conference is closer than 5 years ago when the sec championship was as good as the falcons. I do think 1-16 the sec is still significantly better than the other conferences. A 9 game sec schedule is brutal.

  7. The only Serius XM sport show I listen to is Full Ride with Chris Childers and Rick Neuheisel. I NEVER listen to danny and Dusty in the Morning. I can’t stomach their idiotic banter.

    • Oof! I don’t mind Neuheisel, but Childers might be the worst radio personality they have on that channel. I don’t really listen to it anymore and have gone to Bill King out of Nashville in the mornings via a channel out of Macon.

      You can stream it online.

  8. If all you have is a hammer, Danny, everything is a nail. Not sure we watched the same Miami-A&M game, but it was a terrible game for both teams in high winds, only to mercifully end when Miami had one good drive in the 4th quarter. They didn’t manhandle shit that day. Also, lots of people beat A&M in Kyle Field. Do your research.

  9. I have two things to say. Didn’t Duke beat VA for the ACC title? Truly powerful champions there. And I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard any SEC person say it’s impossible to win at Kyle Field. A&M was a pretty good team last year but certainly not anything great.

  10. Reluctant props to Danny for using one tired angle and making a media career out of it. Based on the reactions here, it still works. The only time I listen to him is when he is on Russillo’s pod and actually has to defend his bullshit.
