A commenter yesterday mentioned that Mike Bobo is having a great time right now, as he’s finally getting a complete offensive line (did I hear somewhere the offensive line starters played every snap of the game without substitution…gawlee Pete!), a solid surrounding cast, and a comfortable, confident quarterback.

I also mentioned yesterday that we had some continued hesitancy around Gunner and his ability to see the field and hit the deep plays…well, lookie here:
Is that good? That’s good, right? Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty durn good.
And we don’t even have a healthy running back room. Just imagine…
Dammit Bobo.
Did anyone else notice that the plays seemed to be plays we have not seen so far this year? A bit more mixed bag if you will. Mikey had the big box of crayons out Saturday.
I blame Bobo.
All those lovely, warm n cuddly numbers are pure rat poison at this time of the season, CKS wants time delay, c-4 type explosiveness, let the newest barner hc experience a big taste of UGA football at Sanford Stadium beat down, prior to his decision to accept that forth coming buyout check….#AUBURN SUCKS!!

What is amazing is that the offense accomplished that success in Bryant-Denny while everyone in the stands knew before thecsnap which play we were going to run. /s/.
Bobo called a good game. Bobo has called A LOT of stupid plays in the past. 2 things can be true. Going forward I want Bobo to call good games but my inner Munson elephant memory screams during games.
I’ve had my issues with Bobo in the past, but I never thought he was a bad OC. He just seemed to make what appeared to be the occasional boneheaded play from time to time. But I’m sure many of those would have been considered brilliant if they’d worked out. He’s dialed up some of our most productive offenses in history, and I think his level of success has a lot to do with the skill and experience of our QB and his trust in that QB. Last year we were screen pass heavy and he was blamed. But he had a QB with very little experience, a WR corp coming off a season where they used bear fat instead of stick’em on their hands, and an explosive WR in Branch who could turn a screen into a TD half the time. So I’ve learned to cut him some slack. This year, he was finally able to swap out his 8-pack of Crayolas for the always exciting 64-pack with the built-in sharpener and it shows.
Do believe that UGA football vs wisconsin was the last bowl game at the “Big Sombrero”..do know those wisconsin women were corn fed and had doooo some serious pre game drinking issues, not to mention their band leader could perform some high stepping…GO DAWGS!!
Michael Stipe Bobo was dealing in that game. Ron Dayne had no idea who was going to hit him from what angle. Robert Edwards was the best player on the field that day.
I have said it before, but it bears repeating: Bobo is a very, very good OC…as long as he is not paired with Stacey Searles as his OL Coach. Do I think SS is a bad OL coach – absolutely not! But for some reason those two do not produce when together.
There is huge gap between taking note of a few “wtf was that?” decisions over the course of many years, and judging Bobo as a bad or mediocre OC. Kirby has made some really fucking dumb decisions too.
All I’ve ever said is that I want Kirby to have the OC Kirby wants AND that Kirby knows more about that shit than I do. I’ve also strongly questioned the judgment of anyone who challenges those two premises.
Additionally, it appears that in the post-NIL era that Kirby’s ability to program build and motivate is smoothing out the possibility that some isolated in game decision is going to be outcome determinative.
We aren’t beating teams with our brains guys. We’re seal clubbing them. We are out executing them. When you have big, fast, motivated guys who are sound fundamentally, the play call takes a back seat.
This is especially true when it appears that most coaches, looking at you Sark, are struggling to navigate this era and therefore have a well-paid, but soft, undisciplined and unfocused roster.
