Every Penny’s Worth of Hype-ul

The Volunteer expat found a home, and for a considerably lower NIL valuation. First, some snark:

To cover for their collective PR nightmare, the Nico camp is claiming it wasn’t about money, but about Huepel’s offensive strategy.

Yeah, right. This in light of reports that Nico skipped practices in the regular season as well as in the prep sessions for the CFP game while having similar NIL disagreements, though much of that is conjecture…but given the Vowels performance against the Suckeyes, it wouldn’t shock me if that’s true.

Word is Nico will make 1.75 million at UCLA, a school where his own brother signed, then transferred to Arkansas in December of 2024. Additionally, seems he’ll have to deal with a new problem in his change of location:

I hear the California state tax for his services is in the ballpark of 14%, so he’ll be lucky to see half that money with federal taxes kicked in.

Time to get a financial manager, kid. Might be the last penny you make from football for quite a while.

  1. Hilarious. The coach that got Joe Milton into the league has a bad offense for Nico

  2. Not sure how this works out for Nico, but he’s taken a major upgrade in uniform from that ugly orange & all the terrible alternate uniforms that TN loves so dearly. Always loved the home blues of UCLA.

  3. So he held out for less money. Graduate of the George Constanza school of negotiation.

    • Hey that one episode where he did the opposite of what his instincts told him to do worked out well!

  4. I feel confident saying this may be the last we’ll ever hear about Nico.

    • Au contraire WCD, that nico financial group will open a new office before the end of the 2025 season….nico financual ain’t nuthin’ to fuck with, nico financial ain’t nuthin’ to fuck with….

  5. Nico fleeced the necks for over a year before he took a snap. Then plays hardball and takes a pay cut. Both get screwed. I love it.

  6. Riiiiigggghhhhttttt. It was because of the offense. The same offense they used to recruit him to Knoxville.

Yeah… the OFFENSE! That’s the ticket!

  7. I’ve been to Knoxville.

I’ve been to the area around the UCLA campus.

Nico did just fine here. Especially, if he likes women with a full compliment of teeth.

Plus, none of those pesky post-season games.

  8. hate to see nico use his heisman, consistent level abilities to overthrow his receivers in the Big ten conf. what a waste.
but from dawgville the overall view is chamber of commerce level good as 10rc got screwed and #10 did a self-inflicted screw job.
