One Less Robinson in the Backfield

Georgia has its first portal defection of the spring:

I hope he can find a place where he can stay healthy. With a crowded running back room and his continued to struggles to see the field, can’t say I blame him.

  1. Do I understand the rules to be that he may NOT go home and play at Ole Miss/Mississippi State next year?

    If so, that’s shitty.

    • In theory, he could have stayed at Georgia (if possible) for the 2025 season and then transferred home in winter 2026. He could have left during the winter portal to go to Ole Miss or State if that’s what he wanted to do.

  2. Correct no transfers to an SEC school without sitting out a year. He did not fit in the Bobo screen happy offense.

    • Not his injuries or the depth chart? You sure?

Did Chubb and Gurley fit into “Bobo’s screen happy offense?”

      They seemed to do ok.

  3. I wish it would have worked out for him. He seemed like a really great teammate. Hope he makes it somewhere and gets plenty of playing time.

  4. “Coach Lanning is on line 1”
Seems like a good fit, CDL with an SEC power back in the Big 10? Best of luck to the young man.

  5. If it weren’t for bad look, he wouldn’t have any luck. He just could not avoid the injury bug.

  6. This actually surprises me a bit for some reason. I thought for sure that injuries were the only reason he wasn’t seeing the field much and assumed both Robinsons would shoot to the top of the depth chart for heavy playing time come fall once they are healthy for once. I hope he lands somewhere, stays healthy and has a productive season.

  7. He’s still not even able to practice. I’ll be surprised if he plays much in 2025. Really unfortunate luck for him.

    • He reminds me of Albert Hollis. Lots of potential just always injured. Good luck to him.

      • I think he had higher potential than Hollis did, but that’s a pretty good comp.

      • The dude was killing it in practice until the first injury in 2023 fall camp. His freshman year we saw what he could become.
