Here’s the latest, lamest hypothetical CFP bracket for all to behold:

Whoop de doo…what does it all mean, Basil?
Georgia Wins the SEC
Okay, so if we win this weekend, we move up to #2. I have a hard time seeing Ohio State or Indiana moving lower than 3, so provided that Texas Tech beats BYU, TTU remains at 4.
Bama, on the other hand, is likely on the outside looking in. It’s hard to see #5-7 moving much, unless the Committee accounts for Kiffin’s departure and moves Ole Miss down a peg…but since coaching changes aren’t a stated factor, I don’t see that happening.
BUT…let’s say that TAMU moves up to 6 and Ole Miss down to 7. We could be looking at a potential rematch with Ole Miss, which will still be commandeered by Charlie Weis, Jr., who was allowed to return to Oxford to finish out the playoff run.
With Alabama out, Notre Dame could conceivably move up to 9, but could be stable at 10 and allow Miami to leapfrog to 9. This would give yet another potential chance for a rematch with either Ole Miss from this year or another CFP tilt with the Irish, or we could be getting the blogger dream come true of facing Carson Beck and Miami. Possibly.
But wait…there’s more…if Georgia wins, it makes the Texas loss to Georgia look even better (I know, I know), but Texas is already being dubbed a “snub” and Lord knows that Texas would pull in the ratings over a BYU, and let’s just say I have yet to be truly surprised by the Committee’s decision making to date. So there’s the potential for three rematch options for Georgia here. But what if we lose?
Georgia Loses the SECCG
This is where some real bedlam can happen. Theoretically, if TTU wins, there’s the potential for the only three relevant teams in the B1G to get a bye, with Oregon moving up to 4. Alabama would be no lower than 5 and Georgia likely a 6.
I’m assuming here now that Georgia, at 6, would then host a home game against Duke or Virginia (wouldn’t that make the Senator happy?) and then be playing against Texas Tech in the next round. Should Georgia beat Texas Tech, then I could see where they would face the loser of the B1G championship, so either Ohio State or Indiana.
In to other words, Georgia’s next opponents could be Virginia (home), Texas Tech, then tOSU or Indiana. One the SEC Champion outcome aide, they could be facing a potential first round against Miami, Texas, TAMU, Notre Dame (who just potentially lost Jeremiah Love), or Ole Miss, and then play tOSU or Indiana.
The old question was do we prefer to play in the SECCG? Now the question is, do we prefer to lose or win?
As it has been said before, the CFP and company really sucked the life out of college football…but at least we all know what Kirby’s first order of business is.

Screw the hypotheticals. That’s for Auburn fans.
Win the SEC, then win it all.
Gosh, that was so . . . predictable. How much booze and erection pills did they sell during the show?
I missed the news regarding Love for ND. Did he get dinged up against Stanford?
That Major League quote has been popping into my head for days. Glad to see I’m not the only one who remembers that classic.
Let’s win the SEC and then see where it all goes.
I would like to win and remove Alabama from playoff consideration (I know that part of it plus unlikely).
Exactly! Take those lucky arse defeats the YellerHammer Pachyderms have been stacking, let our guys talk about it with their pads and find an excuse to win!
Handle the bammers now, dismantle the cfp next…GO DAWGS!!
Haven’t they said all along that playing in your CCG won’t hurt?
I was thinking the same thing.
I find it more likely that even if we win, Bama only drops to 10 and someone else drops out. Also, if we lose, the committee will put Bama at 4 as SEC champ.
A playoff bracket from Sports Illustrated? Do they even do sports anymore? I thought they were in the Ladies swim wear business now.
This whole thing reminds me of the famous “Who’s on First” skit.
Can you imagine if Duke beats Virginia and they have to put a 5 loss team in?
A horse shit selection process left up to manipulated morons to manipulate the selection criteria.
The scariest 9 words in CFB…?
“We are the committee and we’re here to help”.
It SHOULD be the best 12 teams if it were fair.
We all know better.
It’s all made up and flatulent.
No matter conference or W/L against half-assed foes..
pick the best 12 with a computer.
Get rid of this bunch of biased, axe grinding, puffed up ESPN and B1G fluffers.
The pre-gifted entry to High School league champions and runners-up is ridiculous.
Their bullshit about considering SOS is just that..pure bullshit.
Duke or Virginia my aching ass.
Same with several other teams being considered.
This is all about TV money.
Didn’t we all predict it would come to this?
The CFP Committee is a gathering of hoe$.
(this year will leave out a couple..maybe a few..SEC teams that would very likely have won or been runners-up in any other conference)
